The Lea Bridge Road is like that becuse of the River Lea
The alternatives are Forest Road, the Eastway and the Bow Flyover...
You can avoid the latter parts by heading up to Forest Rd via Hoe Street and then Chingford ; but they are not as direct.. The Chingford route does avoid the Waterworks Roundabout.
You can also ride up to Walthamstow through the Marshes, but that's also indirect..
If you want to do a ride into Essex on a Sunday with Lea Valley then do let me know...

Hey guys.
Keeping an eye on this thread as I'd love to join for a couple in the coming weeks. haven't been out and about for months really and this is my section of town. Got mech issues which I'm sorting and if you'll have me I'd love to tag along in a week or so?
In other news, I live in Leyton these days and from town I find the best route is out via Viccy Park or the roads North of it to the Eastway, then alongside the new media centre at the Olympic Park, under the flyover and over the railway, left on Leyton High Road and all the way up to the Bakers Arms. There are even a few rat runs up past Leyton Orient's stadium which avoid the busier bit of High Street. This cuts the Lea Bridge Road out altogether and the Eastway is actually not too bad.
Failing that, there are increasing routes appearing through the Olympic Park via the velopark...
Can't wait to see what your choice of routes are out in Epping. Always love a roll around there.

Hoping to be free Wednesday. I may have to flip the stem on my bike though, was walking around with a hunchback on Friday...

I've got a 10mile TT tonight so hopefully won't expend myself too much and be able to come along tomorrow!

I'm just wondering if I'm gonna bother with the Tuesday 10... manky weather.

I think I'm out tonight/tomorrow I'm afraid. I have designs on cooking a guinea fowl, and I'm very hungover.
It's on. Do I need to bring out the overshoes?
