I'm thinking about riding back to London from Bath on Monday,
firstly, does anyone want to join me, and secondly, does anyone have this route as an .gpx file or similar?

Is that not the same route in reverse? Get a person with *pro *membership of strava to DL it for you :)

[strike]Its a little drop-down menu on the actual map (RHS) in strava[/strike]
I have no fucking idea what they are doing with their UI any more. Is not there.
AHA, just checked, and it still there on another ride (although faded to make it effectively invisible), but not on the one you linked. TL:DR Strava sucks baws

I think you have to 'follow' the rider, or they have to follow you, or something.. (Ben's route ^^^^ is exportable to me, for example...)

There are some tools which can rip any strava ride/route into a garmin compatable file. A quick google search took me there last time.
-
• #137
I'll sort you out later, I need to check a couple of things on that route above anyway (for instance trim to to Bath and inc. the Tunnels)

Not long to go now... Route and final deets out over the w/e.

Not ready for this at all. Need to get some miles in during the week.

Anyone tempted to ride back the next morning?

Anyone tempted to ride back the next morning?
Erm, I had planned this as a day ride as opposed to an overnighter which I will organise later in the year (when there are warmer/longer days).
Just to make is clear, I'm planning on leave Trafalgar/Farnborough Saturday morning. Reading back it would seem I wasn't as clear as I should have been about this. In which case if everyone else assumes it's a night right then... well, I guess I'll join in.
Pref for me is a day ride while the nights are so cold.

Anyway having used some clever Garmin stuff and some Maths I've come up with the following:
Start point 1: Farnborough Station (12-14mph) route
Train from Waterloo: 9.39 am (fast) or 9.42 (slow)
Set off at 10.30am riding 92.8m 12-14mph should take about 6.5-7.5 hours.- T4
- hats
- Dr Cake
- middleofnowhere (fixed)
- Ultracrepidarian
- wools (FUCKING AY)
- KT Bee (I think maybe the fast group KT?)
- bape victim
- braker
Start point 2: Trafalgar Square route
(followed by the above)Setting off 10.00am riding 127m at an unsocial (17-20mph average) pace should take 6.5/7.5 hours.
- BenJam
- middleofnowhere (geared)
- Rod Munch
- Steve
- Howard
- vunugu
- croft
- Hovis
i.e. the chasing group should catch the others toward the end.

Hello mate. Didn't mean to cause any confusion. What I mean't was that I might stay the night (in Bristol) then ride back the next day. Will probably decide on the day.

Aha! I see, no worries :) I'm in London Thursday/Friday next week if you want to meet me and give me a change of clothes etc. instead of carry them. PM me.
PS I would join you but I'm doing a fair amount of riding atm and a hall pass isn't that easy to get :)

Time to start looking at the long range weather forecast and wondering what that damp sensation is while you sleep.

I'm pretty much prepared for all eventualities weather wise, having stocked up on winter gear in the sales. Riding rain or shine.

Really? Please let us know when you have it finished.

I rode out to Bath and Bristol early Sunday morning, straight out the A4. Was actually quite nice.

I went out for a noon around Wiltshire y'day and found a slightly less depressing route through Devizes. I've always found that from the Esso garage things get a little disappointing but uf you take the next right you're back in rolling hills again.
I'll talk to braker about amending the 'official' route.
I'll be pushing my usual 67.5". If this were a regular TNRC distance I'd be with the fast group but that's unrealistic for this distance in my current shape. All the training I get at the moment is the same fiddly 11 mile route around central London.
