• just checking in, everything seems to be in order... anyone fancy organising an overnight midsummer run to Bath toward the end of the month? Chatty, relaxed pace.

  • next one will be flat, and so will the one after that.

    in! (!)
    ;~)

How about the Isle of Wight?

  • How about the Isle of Wight?

    How about both?

  • In all seriousness, do people want to do the deluxes on a weekend or on a Wednesday?

I like the weekday ones, it feels sort of naughty slipping out on a school night but you really do need to take the following day off work. Weekenders negate that but seem a little less special to me.

  • For me the perfect evening is Friday. You get that great rush coming out of work and you don't write off the whole weekend. I'm easy either way as I'll take the following day off :)

  • Bath is a bit boring I'd rather ride to the 24h Thame M&S and back after pizza and pistachio and hazelnut ice cream at Santa Maria on the revised Ludd Oxford to London route. Probably on a Friday.

There's a KFC in Bath, perhaps if we phone ahead they can get some hamburgers in for you.

circa 38 flat miles but the same route is never ridden twice so the actual distance like the directions will be a mystery
    http://www.bikemap.net/en/route/279148

Train 19:18 Liverpool Street, if numbers are high we have the option of an earlier train to Shenfield with a short ride to meet up.
Last train back is only 23:02 so curtail that drinking.

    Train: 19:18

  • I like the sound of a midweek special, and bath is a lovely route. Though bollocks to any 18mph chain gangs at 6am... I'm looking at you Howard

    diarised, :-)

    as for 6am chain gangs,

A chain gang is a group of prisoners chained together to perform menial or physically challenging work as a form of punishment.

lets at least await daylight before undertaking necessary strain!!

  • oh - could we schedule a return to those sweeping vistas out in the Chilterns? (previously led by BMMF)

  • ingatestone

you planning on doing that off road section as well? it was alright for the first ten yards but the novelty soon wore off. can't help but think that its an unnecessary inclusion and will just result in multiple punctures if we're unlucky

  • Magical mystery tour, the route is revealed more with every wrong turn taken.

  • Wait, there's an off road section?

We should probably try and avoid going via Ongar this time too.

  • Just for once dare to go right on the infamous T junction and then follow your noses.

  • Just for the record, this is the route without the off road section...

I see you, biting my steez ...

  • Fight me bro?

  • I'll meet you 19:45 Ingatestone Station.

Bring your crew 'cos I'm bringing mine.

  • We should probably try and avoid going via Ongar this time too.

But all roads lead to Ongar
