woof!
I was always so impressed with the Cielo's that came through work shortly before I left. The only comparable bikes I handled were Cherubim tourers and a select few Indy Fabs.

I had planned to build this tomorrow morning but it's very likely I'll do it tonight and ride it tomorrow.

lush! use wine cork washers if you need to the get the mudguards spaced out for the perfect fit

I just couldn't get the mudguards on with 30mm tires and the Ultegra front mech (which hangs really far back towards the tire). I think it will need thinner tires and the mudguards bending around the mech.
Also, bought the 250mm seatpost and it is about 5mm below the minimum insertion point so I prolly needed the 330mm. Balls.
I'm pretty happy I guess, it just needs some tweaking.

What tyres are you going with?
-
• #136
30mm? I thought the Cielo was designed for 28mm without mudguard.
Skinny 25mm is your best bet, unless you managed to shoehorn the 28mm in.

Parigi Roubaix 27mm on a wide rim are more like 30mm

Dov, if you are using the new Shimano (I think you are using 6800 on this?) then check that the band on adapter that you are using puts the mech in the place which is specified by the Shimano manual- a lot of them put it too far back.
This is a particular issue with the newer Shimano mechs as they, as you point out, "stick out" rearwards a lot.
That aside they work a lot better in the correct place relative to the BB.

This, I think they're 26mm rather.
Lovely tyres, or the Compass Bicycles version.

Which adapter is the right one. The one I'm using is definitely a standard fit. Shifting is fine though.

It's supposed to be like that. When the new cable has stretched you close it up and don't have to pull any more cable through.
Aren't you supposed to be a mechanic?
Comfort innit. Plus future proofing for old-age (which is coming at me like a rabid dog)
