By the way, got an old army ammo pouch (or a gas mask pouch I think) that you can easily converted into a saddle/handlebar bag.
Almost exactly like this;

I thought of making a front rack bag out of this. Is this a really thick idea?
I have a pair I use as panniers on one of my bikes, good but not waterproof and so had to keep taking them off and not using them if it looked like rain as stuff getting wet was annoying and they take ages to dry out. The straps tend to all be 1 inch webbing stuff so very easy to replace ect. Do a search for "haversack" on ebay and loads come up. The rucksack one like pictured I would just get 2/3 longer straps and put one under from side pocket to side pocket and then another from back rucksack loop to front pocket, tighten up and maybe shorten the straps and and job done.

After having commuting on this for a couple days, I'm convinced this is the most practical/comfy bike I've ever ridden, rides super smooth and I think the bar end shifters are amazing. I'm shifting much less than I do on my Somec, which is also 9 speed.
Wasn't expecting it to be so heavy i.e. hard to prop up with panniers! Almost had a LOL moment when it nearly fell on a colleague who was walking by as I was waiting for the garage lift...

is the rack a tortec ultralite? would you mind measuring the bottom stays, would it bend enough to fit 175mm wide mounts?
looks ace by the way

thanks, seems to be about 15cm currently... maybe 2.5cm on top is a bit much.

Are you going to put some 'on tour' pics in this thread if/when they happen.
Ride it to Greece and back mebbe?

There's a Greek restaurant on Clerkenwell Road?

Cheers, thought as much. Tubus Vega claims to be good up to 180mm, bit pricey though.

Trust me, I'd love to ride to Greece. Not sure when I can take time off for something so extreme though. Only started new job last week. For now, commuting, and audaxes (signed up to one, looking at another two or three).

scoble has lost it tbh ..

You don't take time off, you quit your job, spend a couple months getting to Greek, and then spend 6 months trying to find a new job.

What colours did you go for? I'll be interested to see how yours compares to mine

Just checked out his website. Surely it can only be camo.
-
• #473
unfortunately the cool Erebis camo is no longer in stock. Not a fan of Danish camo.
I went for black, with olive highlights.

• #474
Sounds good. Thinking about it maybe camo bartape and bag could be overkill?

Have you bought this Gore soft-shell jacket too?
You massive cock.
