  • Late May, Glen is ordering the tube set this week.

    Powdercoat will take a while.

  • Geometry have been sorted, he ordered the tubing and should start building it soon.

    The Oaks geometry is;

    **Reach: **352mm
    Stack: 595mm

    National Forest Explorer will be 13mm longer;

    Reach: 365mm
    Stack: 600mm

The main reason is that because the NFE is more of a bicycle I'll adapt regularly (from upright gravel riding to slammed touring), 365mm reach mean that if I were to run compact drop*, I'll have to run a 120mm stem (normal for a frame with a stack of 600mm), classic drop** required a 90mm stem.

    *75mm reach
    **100mm reach

  • excited to see how this turns out. what colour are you thinking?

  • Gloss black, a la Rapha.

Glen have mitered the tubes yesterday, should look like a bike by now hopefully.

  • Glen
Have you picked one of the stock colors from the revised website yet? Hoping to drop it off with the powder coater Friday.

Mid to late June ETA hopefully...

  • He should've sticked to TIG.

  • Le trolle

  • Dibs on your Cannondale when you sell it.

  • Those chain stays look like they've been set closer to the centre line of the bike than I'd normally expect. Is there a particular reason why?

  • Centre of the BB you mean? it'll have a longer wheelbase so doesn't need to be set far apart, also enough clearance for a road crankset and 2.1 MTB tyres.

He says it's a little bit complex to do.

  • Yep, that's what I meant Ed. I can see that with the road cranks & 2.1 combo there's going to be a fair bit of fiddling about.

  • this sounds sick.
    sub'd

  • Frame and fork finished, currently at the paint shop awaiting a gloss black powdercoat, might take 3 weeks depending on the queue.

  • Like I said, top tube is 1cm longer, and head angle is 1 degree steeper, 3 bottle cage mounts were possible.

  • how many scoblebricks are you aiming for?

  • None.

Does 60cm qualified for BBB porn?

  • 54cm top tube certainly doesn't

  • I like it. More frames like that should be made for people with long legs vs short torso like myself. When do you think this is coming your way?

  • None.

Does 60cm qualified for BBB porn?

    no.

Yes, but its the minimum requirement

  • are you on crack? 60cm c-t is tiny especially with an extended seattube as above

  • I wanna see your big mamas, 60cm +

    ...

  • Tyres arrived, folding Panaracer Comet 2.0, liking the thread pattern on it, compact enough for road and path, and 50mm should allow a super low pressure of says, 20psi.
