Apollo is just trying to find reasons not to do a 130 mile bike ride.
I bet him £8 he doesn't do it!
I'll PM you my paypal details.

Well done to the organisers that was a really great day! Really nice atmosphere all day.
Amey you overtook me a few times today, lovely bike! I was on a red Mercian Tourer. I averaged 15mph which i was pretty pleased with on that bike.
The heat was tough at points, hurting everywhere but had a great day. -

Lovely ride. Will remember it well! Am now quite tired and moderately sunburnt. Good times.

That was FUN! Lovely riding with Doctor Cake, Howard and Matt on the Mercian, who we picked up along the way.

50 flouncers, I couldn't get a place because I left it too late, thinking there aren't really going to be 200 takers. I was right! But I can't complain had an awesome day doing the Brompton Urban Challenge instead.

Great day! struggled a bit on the way to Great Dunmow where an ice cream revived me .. Seems like I ate a ridiculous amount of food today =P
Lovely to see KT, Howard and Dr Cake at lunch

There were 80 flouncers, sadly.
I hope you don't plan to refund the £640

I wonder how many of those 80 had the decency to let the organisers know they were not going to turn up, I would guess only a few.

It's not the DNSs who say nothing who are too much of a problem, it's the folk who DNF but don't let the organiser know ...

Great ride yesterday, the route was fantastic. My saddle decided to break just as I got out of London, thankfully it still held is shape, but was squeaking the entire way round. Much annoyance.
Otherwise a fantastic day out, many thanks to the organisers, especially for the gargantuan flapjacks! -

Flapjacks? How did I miss them?
-
• #96
I think at Great Dunmow. They were massive, someone at Islington CC has srs skills.
I foolishly stuffed my face, and suffered for the following half hour, but they did the job. -

Feck.
I thought GD was just a commercial control - get a receipt. Was there a manned control then? Nobody told me ... (Or more likely I didn't read it.)

So glad I ditched this ride.
Had an awesome day of riding/drinking/swimming and getting my track licence rather than getting lost in north londonDon't worry Apollo I've already raised a clawback claim to Paypal to get my seven quid returned.

80 riders missed out, clearly.
Good group, amazing conditions - when we weren't stuffing our faces we averaged 15.5mph. Happy with the legs - enough in the tank to drag the group through the horror that is Epping New Road at a clip.
KT however has clearly been hill training.

Ah, you must be one of the two I met briefly on the way up to The Chestnut Tree - saw you demonstrating the squeaking to the guy you were riding with!
Agree with all of the above, great route and a thoroughly enjoyable day out.
Coolbeans - you'll probably catch us up.
On the Airnimal now, bike without bottle bosses probably not suitable for 200km. Need one of those seatpost mount doobries.
