  • Good to know you are coming - the forum folks I knew had dropped out (neg rep coming their way) so thought I was going to be making polite chit chat to randoms

Can someone recommend a Forum meeting spot in or around the park - is that even feasible?

i'm planning to hang back til the london roads have cleared a bit. you're very welcome to join me for the start.

it's great to socialise in London Fields with all the forum present, but i prefer not trying to stay with a group on the road, you get broken up passing slow people.

  • there and back

    1. BenJam
    2. Ultracrepidarian
    3. Mule

    4. Husy

    If I end up going.

    Still riding back?

  • Well Benjam's out but I am.

Ps. My underpants just spontaneously combusted.

  • If I have a spare Dynamo ticket and wanted to give it away, does it matter what the name is on it?

  • I hope not. I'm planning on collecting as normal then handing it over to its new owner.

  • So I will be doing this route:

    http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5263154

Aiming to leave at 9:30-10pm or so and average 27kph ish. An hour built in to the schedule for stops should take us back to the Blue Egg cafe for breakfast when they open at 10am. If we're early for the Egg we will continue on to London - no hanging about.
If you see me and fancy tagging on just let me know!

  • ^^ / ^^^ you can change the name/details online if the ticket comes from Southwark Cyclists

  • This is the greatest film of all time, no question.

  • Weather's looking totes crapola.

  • Weather's looking totes crapola.

    So it is.

    Bollocks.

Light showers I can deal with, but heavy rain is minus fun.

  • Gonna take the road Argos, plus saddle bag and some clip-on mudguards. It's pink on the other side, I'll be repping some Cafe de Colombia kit, so say hi!

  • ^^ Only on the Sunday really. Saturday night looks OK.

  • Someone's looking for a stoker for his tandem:

  • So it looks like it's going to rain all night, I'm bailing if that still looks likely tomorrow early evening.

  • Going to make the judgement call for that tomorrow
I'm not worried about cycling that far but a bit worried about cycling that far being soaked!

  • BBC just said thunder storms. Should illuminate the road nicely.

  • Yeah same, not worried about the distance at all but 9 hours in the rain overnight two days before I go on holiday.. Do not want.

  • The thunderstorms are not until Sunday afternoon, according to the met office site.

  • But it does look warm but rainy all night.

  • So like warm and dry, but we're saved the bother of sweating. Win.

  • Horribly rainy coming to work this morning, not doing that for 8 straight hours!

  • Met office has a rain severe weather warning for today, but not for the weekend.

  • Remember 2(?) years ago - it rained all Saturday (cats n dogs) in London, and then cleared up at 6pm, and was a lovely ride. Met office changes it's mind every 30 mins, so fingers crossed....

  • bit of a long shot but if anyone does decide to bail and has a coach ticket they want to sell can you pm me pls? (for a mate, I have mine and will be riding whateva the weather)

  • Re weather I think the best answer is; don't know,we'll probably get rained on, a bit ?
