To be honest for 120 miles its easy, I do more climbing on my usual 40 miles rides
-
• #903
Never mind some of the people who attempt it on a BMX.
300km with 4800m climbing (including the Devil's Staircase) on that...
Goes to show, whatever the ride someone will have already done it on every combination of stupid bike choice.

I had that exact front light, 30 years ago.

• #905
did you also point yours directly at your saddle bag?
-
• #906
The saddle bag is on the bike in front, I think.
The only other thing I remember about that light is that it ended its life spread over the A217 at Figgs Marsh after someone pulled out from a side road in front of me.

I chatted to the guy on the BMX at the village hall. He seemed in good shape at that point.
^^^^^^^ Did you see the tall bike? That was quite impressive as well. -

Anyone got a detailed route/gpx/turn guide for this?
My parents are renting a place for the weekend in Southwold and I'm toying with the idea of cycling to see them.

I don't have a map link, but there is one area that you might want to avoid on the official route - right after Needham Market the B1078 turns into the A140 and there is a big roundabout followed by a right hand turn to Coddenham (along Needham Rd). Fine at 2am in the morning but I wouldn't want to try it during the day (as a Suffolk boy I've seen what happens there). Maybe think about crossing the A14 in Creeting St Mary (further north) or Claydon (further south) instead.

I think me and the kid will be driving the support car again this year so get in touch if you want a bag of stuff brought down to meet you on the beach.
We might also be bringing a BBQ and roasting up some halloumi baps an ting.
There's a guy who does it on a penny farthing (I didn't see him this year though) and it's been attempted on unicycles at least once.
