CW if I recall Bernie had you tethered on a bungee rope..
which looked both hilarious and dangerous in the wee
small hours destined to Oxford, we were all dressed as
chimney sweeps.. ha

Stupid question… is there a kinda LFGSS start time, or is it simply see you out there or at the pub?
-
• #433
The latter. Everyone goes out in small batches, and you can find people to tag along with. It's fun.

I want to leave pretty early as then I can see you all as you pass. Look out for 'Long Vehicle' sign, like you get on HGVs. Say hi!

Haha it would actually take all day to do this ride in a pack of 70, with all the traffic lights and junctions and tempting pubs and cafes on the route. I'd recommend riding in a fluid 5 or so, you'll keep coming across other groups and talking to them anyway, merging and demerging into new groups if you like. It's brilliant

Think the BC group is planning a 09:30 rolloff time.
Could be interesting if LFGSSCC merged in with it. -

I'd gone on a 90 mile ride the day before and whilst I was in fine fettle that Sunday morning, the 'sprint' over to Wembley way, whilst great, reduced my energy levels a tad. The sideways fall was funny and, thankfully, in mud.
I'm still glad I did those rides and even more supremely thankful for the physical and verbal support the group gave me.
I'm definitely coming back with longer legs in my next life :-).

Greetings folks,
Well I know I said I would leave off this thread. But like all addictions, they're hard to give up....
Now then. I would like to report that anyone thinking of riding to the start with the lovely cafewanda had better get some training in.... I was heading up the Nappy Valley Superhighway this morning and was unable to keep up with her. She was travelling at a 'super-Sonja-ic' pace.
Greetings jonny - now then people, hear what this great man is saying..... Please make sure you have all the paperwork sorted - gift aid forms etc..... less time in the queue is more time on your bike....
Weather - well it always comes good for this ride, so fingers crossed.
However, just been warned by the Met Office that as this ride goes through East London, please bring an extra (fashionable please...) layer as it is likely to be 'cool'.
Peace and love to one and all,
Tim -

(I've been doing a bit of research about the best methods for conquering hills.)
My mistake. I'll be seeking a tow plus an oxygen tank, although as I was towed/pushed on a memorable Oxford ride, I really should return the favour. Just not on this ride :-).
