Though, on a more serious note, your choice of including A2 Shooter's Hill Road -> Deptford Bridge I think is misguided, it is not a good part of your ride, and I will avoid it. You could have accessed Loampit Vale a much more direct way, and avoided this horrible road.

Its not great but it is over quickly. I don't think there is an easy route to Loampit Vale across Blackheath that also avoids the worse (IMHO) melee of Lewisham. Happy for you to help us out on that next time if you know a good way round.

One week to go and nothing else has come up so looks like i'll be riding this with a South London living friend. My first (kind of) forum ride, and first time riding in L'sFL.

@ tlc actually the more I think about it, I realise you're right, it's complicated by the DLR. Also I guess at least we're not continuing through New X like we did a couple of years back. But I'll be going from Blackheath down Morden Hill to Elverson Rd station*, and over the footbridge. Partly cos I'll be riding with a young passenger/stoker, so Blackheath Hill is too scary...

*Morden Hill is the best quiet route, but maybe the footbridge not suitable for lots of riders to use it ... unless they dismount.

Well we've all got this far and now it's under a week to go until TLC.

Headed out to visit my parents on Saturday and when heading back to Sudbury, I took in this bad boy

Canonbie it's not, but it is a long steep hill and I would usually take a much flatter route. But with TLC approaching, the mind starts to think of all things Alpine, so it would have been rude not to give it a go...

I have done a quite lot of posting on here since the thread was started. Apologies if needed for some of the content. I've just been trying to keep the interest up and the thread bumping along... Well it's time for me to ease off now and let the ride do the talking instead.

There are circa 70 Team LFGSS riders doing this, so that's £1050 for charidee - great work...
