  • Speaking of riding this fixed , what gear ratio's are people doing this on?

  • 50x17 for the strong
    48x17 for the brave
    46x17 for the sensible
    44x17 for the feeble.. me!!

  • 44x16, the gentleman's ratio.

  • 52x16 for idiots like me! (plus the legendary double spokz for more aero aid going up Cannonbie Road)

  • 42x17 for the knees.

  • Greetings folks,

I know I have mentioned the very important question of what to wear for this ride?

Yes Skully it was indeed written inna 'Take A Break' stylee.

Well I thought I had it all sorted out until I checked out this awesome look - Kisumu style...

I've got a couple of weeks to have a word with my tailor. It really would be a 'waist' not to give it a go... I particularly like the belt loopery... Classic tayloring indeed...

    Peace and Love,
    Tim

    I nearly wrote..
52x16 is for the insane.. but I thought of HoKe and decided not, lol

  • Tim, I reckon the seriously tapered baggy trousers and waist up at the armpits style circa 1984 is making a comeback... ha

First step of normality is admitting I'm insane?

  • Hefty are you offering to put up signs or not?

I can, but it would need to be around Salzburg, or maybe at a push Munich, rather than London. Any good?

  • 50x17 for the strong

that'll be me, i'm so wise. also it's my normal everyday gear.

  • Minimum chainring size is 52, size rear sprocket according to your level of feeble.

Minimum bike weight 10kg, gear ratio according to your level of feeble.
    :p

  • I'd like to finally give this one a go.... Plenty of people on that list who I don't actively dislike. Are there any spare tickets / dropouts around?

    Yes, me. 2 spots available.

  • Hefty - I'll take one of those if I may?

  • And I'll take the 2nd please if still available.

  • Both PMd

  • Two weeks to go...

  • JAH Tim, are you OK? I've been waiting for the next update on your training. I hope you've not slipped back to just two glasses.

  • Anyone know when the route gets released?
Is it a kind of last-few-hours-before-the-start-gun affair or should I continue checking the site every few hours (got to do SOME sort of preparation for the ride, and I'm not doing anything else... Must take a leaf out of JAH Tim's book)

  • Greetings to each and every one,

I must apologise whole heartedly for failing to post on here for 5 days.... Don't worry folks I still have my health and strength... the wicked can't touch Rastafari...

Ludd - the training has been poor this week, I must admit I have failed to even have 1 glass for the last few evenings. Yes I know if I don't start picking my feet up, come the big day...

MAH - the route will I am sure have been finalised by now. On Saturday 5th the wonderful people at TLC will head out along the route and put up the now famous, patent applied for, pink arrowed route signs. Deal is you just keep on going until you see another pink sign advising you of a change of direction. Once you get in to following them it is quite mesmerising.... Usual deal is when you sign in pre-ride you will be given a route guide should you get lost en route.

Not long to go now, in fact.......................

    Peace and Love,
    Tim
