The chainring doesn't look much like the pic from the website. It looks like the whole thing has been brushed appart from the logo which is fully polished. It's hard to get a picture of it but I'll try tonight.
Then Shl was right! It was Caustic Soda. It's like a a lot of diagonal lines right? Picture was quite deceptive.

Oh god, that saddle.... And post... WHY!?!?!

That's all I had in the garage! Rick has my stripped slr on his super pista. Gonna try and get that back and a cheap inline post.

Temporary parts bin build? Silver finishing kit would look great.

Pretty much, I have a silver stem but couldn't be bothered to untape/retake the bars. And as said above, need to order a new post.

Suntors look great on this.
Curious question if you don't mind me asking. How much did shipping cost you? -

Only when they don't match headsets.

^^ shipping was $100 so about £70.
I failed by not emailing first and asking for them to mark the value down so paid £80 import tax. Others who have emailed have paid closer to £50.
I swapped post and saddle with what was on the langdale. raised the stem slightly, just for you B0N0R. First ride this morning was a pleasant one.
Its hard to get a picture, Its alot more red than the side on photo lets on.IMG_4479 by Drymatt, on Flickr

Reckon if you got an extra long seatpost and pushed it all the way down it would pop out those little dents?
I think it's looking good, but maybe silver post and stem would suit better, not sure.

This frame is fantastic, reminds me off Ollie's Bridgestone, hopefully it will live a little longer.

^^ its worth a go I guess, would probably need a 500mm post though. I'm not too sure about the post and stem yet, I quite like the black.
^ I hope so! I don't think I'd take it as well as Ollie did.

I like the black, sets it apart from most builds with NJS frames and looks good with the red I reckon!

The wheels do enough to set it apart... Nice silver post and a pro chrome or similar would be radz

beautiful frame. looks like a fun bike

This is so lovely, will be even nicer with silver finishing kit IMO.
Makes me want to get the Bridgestone repaired -

So, It was a nice build for all of a week, time to start ruining it, this was always destined to be commuted on and the langdale will remain nice.

Raceblades on, and very useful on Saturday morning. The front one will be coming off, I was a bit too optimistic with the clearances.
Any recommendations for a front rack/basket? something sturdy that will fit between the drops? and obviously only mounts to front axle and bars.

I have an unused pdw basket that I don't need, you can have it for £40 if you want. Ideal for carrying a camera, phone, wallet, jacket etc.
Might be a bit small for your needs though...
Otherwise Cetma racks are the only other ones I know of that fulfil your criteria -

wald baskets are cheap and would suits your needs

Not really, the Mankino has been used for my lengthy commute and now looks a little worse for wear. The Langdale now has bullhorns. I'll get some pictures tomorrow.
After my kurve saddle cracked i've been using the same flite on both bikes, and also the same set of pedals on both bikes too.
Currently toying with the idea of purchasing something geared again.
Frame and ring turned up today. I think I might have all the parts I need to build this up tonight. It probably won't be pretty (it was never going to be) but it will be rolling.
