Depends what time, temp in the booth fluctuates wildly throughout the day. Have to say I am pretty happy with this warm weather atm...

Little one getting into the braklezz business right away.
Awesome thread. -

It's more the little one showing an interest in putting something together.
You could always disassemble the next new bike before giving it to him, then build it up together?

Ha.
Had exactly this thought. But it was just after all the crank bolts fell out of my fatbike. So I thought better of it. -

You bike building bond will grow even stronger in side-by-side beds in the traction ward.

Funny you should say that, Ive gone for something slightly too big for her, as I really don't want to be doing this again too soon!

Specialised Paints recommend 10 minutes between coats of the same paint (base, colour, laquer) and 60 minutes between different types of paint. But as Matt says, it depends on the temperature. I hurry things along using lots and lots of halogen lights, but doing 4 base coats, 3 colour coats and 4 laquer coats still takes an awfully long time. Especially when you're gimped up in a Tyvek suit, double-layer Nitrile gloves and a positive-pressure full-face respirator...

Considering the gleaming look of pride on your face after building two bieks for your children I don't think that "real work" will ever satisfy again.
Apart from, you know, the whole getting paid, food on the table, roof over head for said children thing....

Send the children to the mines. Sorted.

Send the children to the mines
If they're mining steel, then it's wins all round.
It's more the little one showing an interest in putting something together.
Fair point though. I'll make him a sheet of polystyrene foam at work......
Swap shop would be awesome.
My kids have walking skis, boots, sticks.
Downhill skis, boots, sticks.
Bikes.
Etc.
All of which they grow out of bloody quickly.
Swap shop would be clever.
I hate to refuse them something which enables them to get outside and be active. Pain in the ass though. Bet loads of parents feel the same. Plus they'd want rid of the old bikes.
