LOL. Flake takes all the time. You done a test panel?
What clear 2k you using? A good quality fast curing clear such as Klar 565 can help speed things up. £180 odd a tin though. -

Too late, somehow set it on fire.

I got away with only 14 coats on my current project. 4 coats of etch primer, 3 coats of white base, 3 coats of pink pearl, and 4 coats of laquer. The downside was the time spent doing it, the upside is the finish is rather good (though I say it myself) and the vast quantity of paint has helped cover up some of the more shonky welding...
Good match on the headset colour BTW. V impressive.

This thread bugs me a bit though. My 6 year old asked me to build him a bike. Like the ones I make myself. I ride with him a lot, and he shows a real interest in my bikes. Just couldn't see the economics of it. All those special small bits (yes. Even smaller than the bits on my bikes). Just for him to grow out of them.
I did buy him a new lighter bike. But this puts me to shame :(

Every morning at 6am I am reminded how 2 is quite enough thanks, although I would imagine you would sleep in longer....
Not really fair comparing yourself in this regard to someone who has access to all the equipment needed to build frames I don't think, it;s an uneven playing field. I have thought about making a 'the little shit's grow out of everything so quick' swap shop for nice bikes and bike bits for children thread. Maybe now is the time?

@Smallfurry @coldharbour - Just be glad that none of your children will grow as fast as I did D:
Deep burn.
