  • 30% discount code for MAAP, looked into the small print and they're covering import duties etc until 30th June. No free returns from the UK though.

  • Thanks! I needed some new bibs.

  • I got worn down by their Instagram ads for the odd panel jersey. First ever MAAP, should be nice.

Is their stuff akin to Rapha pro team sizing?

  • Yes indeed it is. I'm 185cm/83kg and xl in both.

  • in my experience, smaller or much smaller than rapha pro team for jerseys.

  • Uh oh. Went for XS. I’m XS in pro team. 60kg and 174cm.

  • i think XS is ok for you, on the toight side, but these are very stretchy.
i am 66kg/179cm and can wear both S and M with different fits. I also used to have a few Warsaw jerseys, same factory and details as Maap, it was the same fit.

maybe @CasualLime can also chip in with his take on sizing.

  • I would agree with this. Just slightly tighter than Rapha Pro Team jerseys.
But I only have 1 Maap jersey, I am not sure if the fit is different for different styles.

  • Any suggestions for baggy/casual style shorts that will last a while and not cost the earth?

I've been wearing h&m chino shorts and cut off chino trousers but they last like 6 months and then are worn through. They are only 15 or 20 quid though so while I'm looking for something longer lasting I don't want to pay three figures for something I'm only going to get 10 or 12 months out of.

I've a set of Endura Humvee 3/4 that seem pretty indestructible so I'm going to try the Humvee Chino short.

Most of what's out there seems to be aimed at mtbers, I want something that'll show I actually have some knees and I don't want to look like I'm out to 'shred the gnar duuude'.

  • I'm a huge fan of swrve durable cotton. 70 quid so could be considered pricey but does what it says on the tin. The "regular" shorts are pretty baggy mtbish. Trouser shorts show off the knees. Not tried the "cigarette" shorts.

I recently got a pair of the "transverse" shorts but haven't put enough time on them to vouch.

  • The dhb merino base layer/t shirts are great value for money compared to many. Not sure if the DHB150 Strava discount code is still active, it might give you 10/20% off the price.

I have both a 150 and a 200 weight and the difference is actually quite noticeable, the 150 obviously being lighter. They work well and don't get smelly that easily as you'd expect.

  • 70 quid so could be considered pricey but does what it says on the tin.

That's a good endorsement. I can see myself spending that kind of money.

  • I was going to say Howies but it looks either I was imagining they did Bamboo stuff or don't have any at all now.

There's some cheapish blended t-shirts out there that might be a good place to start, or just go for the standard sports gear route as someone else has mentioned.

  • Strong recommend for the 'camp' shorts.

  • Been wearing Helly Hansen shorts like this or this for ages now and they're indestructible, fit is perfect for riding, pockets are great, easily less than 20 quid a pair on ebay, minimal branding too.

  • I've never understood Howies, every time I go on their website it seems as though they're running some clearance sale and there's nothing available

  • Nice.

  • Any suggestions for decent t shirts for cycling all day in? Ideally wouldn't look too cycle-y and would also ideally be plain and black.

An icebreaker 100% merino t shirt, you only need 1. Perfectly good on multi day rides, no odour, etc.

  • Haven’t they stopped doing cycling stuff? Was gonna get some more of their bib tights but nowt there

  • These look like they might be just the ticket. Im using old Endura single track shorts that coming to the end but I love the two large "map pockets" at the back.

Hows that back pocket on these? Looks smaller but would stuff fall out of it easy?

  • No free returns from the UK though.

if you pay with paypal you can get return shipping covered

where do they ship from? tempted to get in before that 30th june cut off

  • Snap, wish I'd know that, though with PP exchange rates I could probably cover return postage anyway. I paid in euros using my Starling account.

Shipping from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Ordered Sunday, dispatched Monday, delivery on Wednesday all going to plan. Beats Rapha's ten days for £8 or something.

  • They ship from the Netherlands so yeah you'll be paying more post June 30.

Although with the recent free trade agreement with Australia it might be cheaper soon to order from the Australian site.

  • sweet thanks. turns out the code doesnt work on the shoes so just bought from sigma instead
