I use a Carradice cape, made of waxed cotton. It’s ok when well-proofed, but not totally waterproof after sustained downpours over 30mins ish. Am still hoping on making a better one. A lot of people are nice about The Peoples’ Poncho, I’ve never tried it. From the looks of it, I prefer the cut of Carradice, covers the bars (means lights not on bars are preferable though).

You got a place/time?

Thanks J + B
I'm intrigued by the PP. Should work well with my lovely porteur bike.
(which is slowly bringing back my almost completely lost mojo).
If anyone sees me reverse commuting my way down to KCH- say hi- I'm quite friendly most of the time. -

For a budget option the Vaude Valdipino works well, if not very fashionable. I'm certainly sold on rain capes for short urban journeys in normal clothes.

I find their full RRP hard to stomach, but at 50% off the kit is a steal. I picked up the Shield gilet and I'm really impressed with the quality of it.

I've got a Carradice waxed cotton cape and a Lidl fluro plastic hiking one. Both work pretty well; the Carradice has waist tapes so it flaps around less, but is less waterproof (though that's possibly because it needs re-waxing), and the plastic one packs down lighter and smaller, but may I suspect be less durable in the long run.
Depending on how tall you are and how the cape falls you may get a bit of rain coming in underneath and onto your lower legs; I considered getting some of the Carradice spats, but decided it was probably a bit much faff for the handful of times a year I actually would have to ride through pissing rain. I also occasionally get damp shoulders I'm not sure whether that's because the fabric needs reproofing, or because I'm sweating where the cape sits on my body. But if you run any way hot like me, a cape is by far the best solution to cycling in civvies IMO.

is there a forum approved cycling kit maker for custom Jerseys. v small run for a group of friends ? or has any one used a good one on Ali express ?
-
• #4515
Not bioracer for sure . Miltag maybe
-
• #4516
Depends how small, whether you need a design or not. Milltag will go as low as 3 items and while spendy, can still be cheaper than some off-the-peg stuff of the same quality https://milltag.cc/pages/custom

You still in HK? Cuore are based out there and do nice custom stuff that’s not hugely expensive.

Endura do them through their endura.me site. We bought two at work last year to trial run an idea we had and the quality and printing is great.

Rapha Custom.
It launches in a few weeks. Pricing is very competitive.

A custom red and white insulated gilet would be nice
-
• #4521
What was the deal before? I emailed but never heard anything back or was it just volume previously and it's now easier for low-volumes?
-
• #4522
There's been a soft launch program for teams but when it launches it'll be anything you like over 5 units.

• #4523
Will hold off my order then if it’s soon.
-
• #4524
yeah still here. Thanks I will check them out.
Its a bit frustrating as just over the boarder there are so many companies doing manufacturing but its a bit like ali express where your not sure good and bad and mostly they want larger runs.i have done a simple design more of a basci logo on black jersey not a fancy design or anything
