  • @ 4:50 Ventolin = clearly no biggie

  • lulz@ OGE shitty rock soundtracks....

  • To catch a Betancur...

    Repped. Every Italian pro's dream.

  • Jurgen van den Broeck has remembered how to ride a bike?

Great to see such close racing and Kelderman right up at the front and attacking.

Kwiatkowski slipping a bit. I hope he goes all-out for a stage.

  • Froome killed himself for the stage win and no time. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. He certainly looks unbeatable.

  • Was it an inhaler or a small bottle of poppers to take the edge of a rushy pill he had in the feed zone?

This is what people mean when they talk about drugs in cycling right?

  • Froome killed himself for the stage win and no time. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. He certainly looks unbeatable.

Unbeatable there, but he incinerated his entire team to do it, and took off like a scolded cat. It's like he was trying to win it on the first stage proper. Porte not being able to take a turn even was a little lulz.

  • Not like saxo could even get on the front though. And as soon as anything happens nibbles men in turquoise melted away as did he struggle.
So froome might have burned men, but they set a pace with the other domestiques could even hang in the wheel too.

  • got a link?

I just record Eurosposrt mate. Check out www.cyclingfans.com though, they're sure to have something (not necessarily in English)

Remember Bagnères-de-Bigorre? It's whether they can keep it up I suppose, I just wonder if Froome got a little over-excited.

Surely Porte is a massive concern, he's been ill all season. Contador looked pretty spicy too

  • Yes but also remember it's only the dauphine. Better to let Porte take the day real easy than have him hanging in just to be there for no reason.

  • Froome certainly didn't ride it like it was only the Dauphine, a brutal marker to lay down.

I feel for Nibali, after getting the public dressing down from Vino, he still looks well behind Contador and Froome.

  • I thought Nibali did pretty well to get back on to all but the final attacks.

Was lovely to see Froome and Contador go at it. You couldn't get two more different styles- Froome all elbows and seated leg speed, and Bert smooth power out of the saddle. Bodes well for the Tour.

  • Considering it was just Stage 2 of the Dauphine, it was compelling viewing

  • Will be interesting to see what happens if Porte doesn't perform and Wiggins goes well in Switzerland. I doubt it will make any difference but the media shitstorm would be lolz.

  • Going by Froome's book, Porte is his BFF and then some, so he'll want to take him, but he hasn't performed to any level all season really. Unless he turns that around in a month, if Sky are pragmatic they surely can't take him, unless Froome can't get to sleep without his roomie's bedtime stories.

  • I'm sure Richie can come along for snuggles and pillow fights.

  • Richie can come along for snuggles...

Maybe Snuggles will step in for Cuddles as BMC's No1. 'stralian.

  • Brad and Snuggles to BMC next year. Froome's heart is broken and he never looks at his stem the same way again.

  • Gripping stage toda---zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • classic sensationalist Eurosport commentary...

  • Lotto rider totally cocked that up.

  • Froome rode like he wanted to both test his form and test his form against others. He rode like he was prepared to lose but willing to risk it for the worth of really seeing where everyone's form is. By turning the taps fully open he's been able to gauge what everyone's got.

    Smart.

  • I thought Talansky had a very impressive ride, be interesting to see what he can manage in the next couple of years.
