Somebody voted as Hemlock, and did not put Hemlock in 15th place. I have deleted that vote. That person can re-vote if they are a registered player. They must put their name and their team as 15.

Put them in division A...

There is a strong argument for putting them in Division B. There is a clear mid-table of 7 teams, with a huge gap between 4th and 5th, and a large gap between 11th and 12th place. The teams between 5th and 11th are all pretty close.

So if we opt for the top 3 in Div A and the bottom 4 in Div B, then that increases the competition for first place in Div B. This makes Div B much more exciting for many more teams. If we put the 8th place team into Div A, then it maybe makes it more exciting for that team, but does less for the league overall.

Sounds like your mind is made up. I was thinking about the best thing for that one team, you are trying to make a better league. Fair enough (though I may regret that if the 8th is Sucker Punch!)

Not made up yet. Still thinking through the various positions and waiting to discuss it with Max.

But under a Benthemite/utilitarian logic, the greatest benefit for the greatest number of teams would be to put the 8th place team in Div B. If you are in 8th, you want to go to Div A. But if you are in 9th, 10th and 11th, all mid-table teams really closely ranked with the 8th place team, then you want them to go to Div B so you can get another really challenging game.
