  • Yeah, I don't think it's workable and probably not desirable with newbies who don't know most people.

  • Just to update the subs list:

    Subs:

    1. Emmet (Dec/Jan)
    2. Adrienne
    3. B
    4. Julia
    5. Robbie
    6. dublinkevin
    7. Chan
    8. Fin
    9. Trigger
  • If ranking teams is makes things easier then that is fine by me.

  • I think it is probably better for people who don't think they have a good idea of the skill level of most of the players to abstain. Is that wrong to suggest?

    17 votes so far!

  • Hot Spoons are currently right on the border between divisions I and II.

No, that makes sense but if not having enough rankings throws it then it is better to get everyone to do it. I have asked someone who does know the teams to rank them for me and I will post their list.

  • We don't need every single player to rank them. All we need is the players who know the teams well to rank them. I would strongly urge that people do not simply adopt the ranking of some other person -- that effectively gives the other person two votes. So please do not do that.

There are about 7 mid-table teams and sorting them out -- who goes into the top and bottom divisions -- should be done only be people who really know those players. Allowing someone to effectively get two votes (by using someone else's ranking) will not help produce an accurate ranking.

  • In short: Please only vote if you know the skills of most of the players. Please only use your own personal rankings.

  • I asked someone who wasn't playing in the league so it wouldn't be two votes but, as requested, will abstain.

Ah, I see. That's better. The main issue is not to allow one person to get two votes.

More generally, I'm rather uncomfortable suggesting that some people abstain. I just wanted to get some reasons out there for people to consider. At the end of the day each player can make their own decision whether or not to vote.

If people think I'm out of line on this, please let me know. Just thinking out loud here.

  • The Chukker Dredd tag is good. Maybe I'll change my forum name.

They call him Chukker, his last name is Dredd
Break the law and you'll wind up dead!

  • Another great British institution fucked over by the triple american whores of Hollywood, hair metal and chucker's insatiable appetite for nicknames.

  • Whoa! Anthrax is thrash metal not hair metal. And they fucking rule!

  • I know, i saw them when they came to London with public enemy. But that song is pretty shitty, and the joke doesn't work quite as well with only two American whores :)

  • I saw that tour in Denver. Like 1991?

    (I did like your joke.)

  • I thought it was 92, but you are probably right. I was pretty young, I thought I was 15, but may have been 14.

Thank god for friends with older brothers :)

  • I have one vote registered to Clerks. Votes can only come from individual players. Would an individual player like to claim that vote or should I delete it?

  • Somebody voted as Hemlock, and did not put Hemlock in 15th place. I have deleted that vote. That person can re-vote if they are a registered player. They must put their name and their team as 15.

  • I have one vote registered to Acid Trip. Votes can only come from individual players. Would an individual player like to claim that vote or should I delete it?

  • I voted last night, put Ed moog Acid Trip in the box, sorry if I did it wrong

  • That vote is fine, Ed. Someone else voted under "Acid Trip."

  • I was looking around for the rankings from previous leagues. I can't find most of them.

We still have this from League I. http://londonbikepololeague.blogspot.co.uk/

But the site from subsequent leagues has expired. http://www.londonbikepololeague.com/. I'm going to buy that again, I think, with league money.

If anyone has any standings from previous leagues, please let me know.

  • I want to get all the standings from previous leagues up on the new site. We should have a dedicated long-term site for the league. And Gabes made an app that posts tweets from the hashtag #lbpl to a live ticker for a site.

  • Done! That was hard work, this is going to be a great league, so many good teams!
