  • Is this actually replacing the Italian version in 2014 or as well as?

  • Replacing the Italian version??? Are you mad? ;-)

  • Are you mad? ;-)

    Ha ha, Yep!
I was hoping to do both in 2014 but the thought just dawned on me that the Italian one might be taking a rest for a year. Thanks for clearing that up!

  • signed up, should be a lot of fun!

  • Both sound like they could be fun, have an old Flying Scot which could do the trick, thought is has 3 gears, so might be cheating

  • I got an email a couple of days ago asking me for £55 to confirm my presence on this.

Is anyone planning on camping for the whole thing?

  • Yes, I'll be camping for the whole thing.
    Just paid my £55.00 now.
    100 mile route.

  • yup, signed up for 100 miler and camping for a few days, might as well make the most of it...

Just need a suitable bike now...

  • still waiting for my email. guess i missed out :-(

annoyingly, i got an enail today telling me of the problems all those who did get in are having with their site - bastards are just rubbing it in now

  • I got an email advising me of my special offer of £70 reg fee - not sure how special that is tbh

  • hmph, more special than 'fuck-off ian you bastard, we're all gonna enjoy ourselves' email i got

  • Nice ride i am thinking about to join in

  • Looking for jersey options for this. Would really like an authentic 40's/50's British club jersey to complement my 1947 Hobbs of Barbican. Thinking something like the attached. Anyone have anything or know where my best chances of acquiring such sweetness would be?

  • anyone know whats happening with general entries? Is their system still borked?

  • I pre registered and got the email, I just tried to register and their site is still down

  • Can we clear this up again, is this replacing the L'eroica (italy) 2014??

  • L'Eroica Italy will be first Sunday in October as usual.

  • Is the reg still open?

  • Just had an email, preregistered humans have got until 3Feb to get in,....

  • How's the terrain? I've never been to the Peak District.
I've pre-registered and will probably come with my mate as missus doesn't have bike that meets requirements.
I plan to bring my Carlton Continental with steel wheels (originals) and non aero (also original) brake levers, but I wonder if that's too risky (wet? downhill?)

  • Hilly. It's hilly.

I don't know the route, but we have family there and I've managed 10,000ft in 80 miles before. There are lots of narrow lanes, often with loose gravel, but I guess they'll avoid those. I expect there will be some 20%+ climbs and descents. It's tough going.

    I'm definitely not going fixed.

Steel wheels? There were hills in the old days too so I'm sure you'd live, but I'm going with aluminum.

huh?! avoiding those? that's over 50% of the fun in the original L'Eroica

  • hilly, sigh...

  • fun, but sigh :)

  • Got a triple with a 30x32 bottom gear........bring the Hilz on
