Are you mad? ;-)
Ha ha, Yep!
I was hoping to do both in 2014 but the thought just dawned on me that the Italian one might be taking a rest for a year. Thanks for clearing that up! -
• #29
signed up, should be a lot of fun!

Both sound like they could be fun, have an old Flying Scot which could do the trick, thought is has 3 gears, so might be cheating

I got an email a couple of days ago asking me for £55 to confirm my presence on this.
Is anyone planning on camping for the whole thing?

Can we clear this up again, is this replacing the L'eroica (italy) 2014??
-
• #42
L'Eroica Italy will be first Sunday in October as usual.
-
• #43
Is the reg still open?
-
• #44
Just had an email, preregistered humans have got until 3Feb to get in,....

How's the terrain? I've never been to the Peak District.
I've pre-registered and will probably come with my mate as missus doesn't have bike that meets requirements.
I plan to bring my Carlton Continental with steel wheels (originals) and non aero (also original) brake levers, but I wonder if that's too risky (wet? downhill?) -

Hilly. It's hilly.
I don't know the route, but we have family there and I've managed 10,000ft in 80 miles before. There are lots of narrow lanes, often with loose gravel, but I guess they'll avoid those. I expect there will be some 20%+ climbs and descents. It's tough going.
I'm definitely not going fixed.
Steel wheels? There were hills in the old days too so I'm sure you'd live, but I'm going with aluminum.
