Lovely bike. I'll be interested in the bars if you're gonna get the wider ones.

I have an alert set up at SJS, when the 44cm's are in stock I will swap them.

Nice looking tape, have the same on the colnago :)
A little bit too hard no? -
• #356
I really liked it on my Dolan, softer and tackier than fizik, about right I think.
-
• #357
TM u had gelpads under it though, no? I was thinking of doing the same tbh....
-
• #358
Yeah I did, but I'm talking about the texture of the tape rather than the cushioning... Compared to say, the Boardman, which has fizik and gel pads, the cinelli tape was much nicer to the touch, and grippier.
If your sole aim is comfort though, gotta be DSP.

• #359
Yeah, DSP would offset some of the fork stiffness, that's for sure!

It's been sorta bugging me that my Record Titanium group is not complete/correct.
I'm close to getting the right seatpost, so the other two parts that I need are:
175mm Record cranks like these, before the inverse logo was introduced.
9 speed Record Titanium Shifters like these
Parts I will have for sale thereafter will be:
9 speed carbon Record Shifters like these
175mm Record cranks with inverse logo like these
Campag Chorus seatpost from same era...

Wouldn't change the shifters if I were you, 2nd gen fit > 1st gen fit..

This is true, hadn't thought of the shape difference.

Hi Apollo,
Great bike! Currently I am working on a van Tuyl Columbus Max and I would like to replace the rear brake cable. Since it has an internal cable routing I have left the inner brake cable in the frame and tried to put a sheath over it. Unfortunately the hole is to small for the sheath to go in the frame. It looks like there is a sleeve inside the frame from one opening to the other. Before pulling out the inner brake cable... Do Columbus max frames have a sleeve inside for the brake cable?
Thanks! -
• #366
Hi, not this one, you feed the whole outer through the toptube, but some do... in which case you need a ferrule on either side
-
• #367
If I may, my two max frames do have internal cable routing.. I guess it depends on the builder, not the tubing..
-
• #368
some are like this and require ferrules
mine is like this and doesn't require ferrules

Just read this thread again, such a lovely bike.

yes it is...

thread merged to include the other Italian and updates coming

Somec updates since last picture are basically just the seatpost/saddle/pedals....but I fear it's a little too short. Used to look like this. I think the Chorus MTB seatpost allowed for a better fit but hey ho. I'd been toying with the idea of selling but can't bring myself to actually try. if not I'd like to get different tyres and redo the bar wrap...

De Rosa got new wheels, which are Campag record pista hubs laced to DTSwiss RR511 disc rims. Used to look like this. Tubs are long gone as they were mainly for vanity and I never rode them on the street. Would like to change the headset at some point, but this Stronglight sealed unit is very decent. Also would like different tyres. truth is I dont really ride this one that much, but I love looking at it while I eat pies and drink beer.
