New to Trainerroad, and tend to do most of my turbo first thing before work. Does anyone else find that the set workouts tend to jump into the action pretty quickly without enough of a warm up?
I'd previously been following the BC protocol of a 20 mins spin out ( https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/knowledge/training-plans/article/izn20140529-Indoor-Training-Sessions-0) which seems built in to pretty much all of their sessions.

Yep, often the warmup is very short. I usually train after work, which means I'm still warm from the ride home. If I train from cold, I'll add 20-30 mins to get everything firing.

Do you still have this?

I think so, will check if it’s expired. PM me your email address and I’ll send it over if it is.

S'alright, have one off of someone else. And the sodding trainer is missing some bolts so I have to return it anyway. FFS.

That's a ball ache. Make the bastards send you a new one out first.

Trainerroad people. In the last two weeks I've done several outdoor efforts of 8 minutes of between 290w and 305w. My best indoor effort on the 8 minute test has been more like 275w. The outdoor efforts have all been on climbs where I've needed to suck it up or just fall over, indoors it's much easier to back off and take it easy. Which do I use to set my FTP?
-
• #813
I'd set it based on your outdoor numbers, but just take your training zones down 5% when indoors. That's what I do anyway.

I’ve got another free month trial to give away if anyone is thinking of trying Trainerroad. Just PM me.

It’s making my legs ache to get these, so someone should claim it to help make it worthwhile.

Attempting to renew my subscription, so I can do an ftp test...
-
• #817
I did two new workouts this week that are worse than the ftp test. Grim.
-
• #818
Plenty on there that are physically worse, but there's something I especially hate about being tested :-)
Give 'Graveyard' a try...

FTP tests are fiiine. It's the over unders I hate.

Did "Mary Austin" at 0530 this morning, before breakfast. That was unpleasant. But perhaps less so than the VO2 max session that was in the training plan

I might have to turn my account back on. I don't really give a shit about speed work but it might burn some more calories.

I did a workout last night that auto-synced to TrainingPeaks. It says I set a new threshold hr. What info from a workout would this be based on. New max HR, so new threshold HR?
-
• #824
Threshold would indicate an average HR over a set period of time (20mins or 1hr for example).

Yes, one left. Pm me your email address.
It does require a credit card then goes into subscription mode unless you cancel. As I recall, they email you before they take a payment to say you need to cancel.
Sure, you got pen and paper? If you want to complicate things you could get a laminated calendar and a wipe dry pen...
