Waiting to see what happens with this but I will try and be around to help paint! Nice one Joe for getting on this so quickly. Shout if you need anything.

Option 2 sounds great if HH are cool with it.
-
• #79
BTW I may also be putting a few SHUFFLE COMM stencils up...
Unless you say I can't... Obvs...
-
• #80
I will be putting up some LPC Phoenix stencils, duh.

I should be able to help on the 21st. I will leave sorting the solution to TS and the rest of you.

I can't remember who (TS maybe?) saying at Newington yesterday that since the boards are in a pile right now, we should align the sides and paint them first. Makes plenty of sense using a roller to get 6 or 7 sides painted at one go instead of painting the sides individually with a smaller brush.
-
• #83
^Yep, stack in a neat pile and pre-do the edges. Though as the edges are pretty porous it's probably best to really work the paint in with a medium-sized brush rather than use a roller.

I've just heard back from HH, we can take the boards up tomorrow between 11am and 5pm, Monday (1.30-9pm) or Tuesday (9-5pm)...
Is anyone available to drive and help load/unload on any of these days?
-

So which paint are we gonna use? Ronseal? Seems like Screw Fix (closest branch to Ryan's is at Bow, closest to HH is Sydenham) have them in stock, Alternatively there is a Tool Station just outside of Ryan's, they don't stock Ronseal but have something else called Fence Mate.

I'm working from home tomorrow so could take a few hours out to drive/load but as mentioned before the VW Transporters that Zipcar have struggle to hold full sheets.
Being < 25 means I'll struggle to rent a transit or something bigger without paying an insurance premium.
-
• #87
OK... What did the sheets get moved in last time, was it the big Luton Ryan and Nik were using?
-
• #88
Even a normal transit won't fit them in flat as they are about 50mm too long. A LWB transit (or similar) or Luton are the only options to fit a stack of them in laying flat.
edit - I thought you could fit about 6-8 sheets in diagonally but just remembered that I had a SWB transit on that trip. No experience with Transporters and 8'x4' sheets but they're smaller than transits so might not even fit 1 sheet in.

OK, I'll have a little think...
Regarding the paint, that stuff looks OK, Ben... Just wondering if it'll be waterproof enough... I've been looking at marine paint but that's really expensive and only seems to be available in clear, no colours...

i'm available monday and tuesday
-
• #91
I can drive, I'm over 25, can come tomorrow between school hours (although I will have a three year old in tow), can also do Tuesday but will be without 3 year old.
-
• #92
if we get fence paint and give 2-3 coats, we'll be fine. I'm around tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday are not possible for me though.
-
• #93
OK, let's knock up a list for availability... And please put down if you're prepared to drive the van...
I think tomorrow is too short notice so let's go with Monday and Tuesday...
I'll look into getting the paint, brushes and rollers... How much paint do you think we'll need?
Monday

- TS
Tuesday

Most paint have an instruction sheet which will give the approximate m² coverage per litre.
-
• #95
I'm not even sure how many boards and uprights we're gonna need to move, Jono?
-
• #96
Slain, saw your posts in the South and North threads but the link provided for volunteering is for this thread which is in the LPC and hence some might not be able to view it. Time for a thread in the public polo forum for this since we already have pretty much got the greenlight?
-
• #97
Could one of the mods move it over?
-
• #98
Yeah, better idea that ^.
-
• #99
I can work from home on Monday and help load at Ryans end.

i'm available monday and tuesday
im also free sunday Monday and tuesday
I can schedule days off around this, if I have enough notice. Also, I was serious about it needing 2-3 coats, by the way. Guess we can apply the later coats after it's put up though.
