  • Well, we can hear a few opinions.

  • Are you absolutely confident that this isn't going to mean we need public liability insurance to run a forum ride or anything like that though? I make an exception for the Foulness ride where I have to accept legal responsibility for anyone who rides onto the island with me, but I (and, I'm sure, everyone else) wouldn't want that for every forum ride...

Foulness is generally well within the forum's remit.

  • yet still no patches on the elbows.. oliver i am disappoint ;)

I need to crash a few times first.

  • you mean a few times more?

  • No, the other patches are just on there because it can't contain my awesome hairy biker chest.

  • Kit is under control...
    And it's looking good!

  • And it's looking good!

    Eh? How do you know?

  • Clarification on "no children" is here:
    http://www.lfgss.com/thread17652.html#post555205

    Over 16 only.

British Cycling define a child as anyone under 18.

This seems excessive, I'll investigate what the impact would be on us were we to allow 'children' over 16.

  • CTT affiliation is a whopping £30 p.a., or £80 if they think lfgss.cc is a commercial enterprise.

If we all put a quid into a Paypal account for this then all the money left over can go on to sub the kit prices.

The kit prices won't gouge at all, and will be pre-sold to ensure I don't have to produce over-runs and estimates.

By making just what we need, of the sizes we need, the cost will be lower than if we tried to guess what we need.

Example: I still have some of the older jerseys left, and always had to aim to break even off the whole run by selling 60-70% of the run. Hence, people paid more to ensure we didn't lose out when we failed to sell the last 20 odd sized items.

This time, people who want kit can buy in advance, and only the exact number of items needed will be produced. No waste means no padding on the cost.

  • Well even though I'm the otherside of the planet, I'll join!

Already get some looks re: original LFGSS jersey, would be nice to have a more understated one for here

please finish the pre-pay the first week into the month so us paycheck to paycheck schmucks can realise and set aside the monies for the kit the month before.

  • good idea david.

but how about a bright yellow jersey with reflective silver lettering? that would be sexy

  • Should do the back of the jersey biker style with top/bottom rocker and inappropriate logo. Away kit sort of thing...

  • Was following this train of thought from the track day thread and I'm chuffed to see it moving so quickly.

Sign me up for a couple of jerseys and a slapdash approach to being a club member that conflicts with other's but might assist me in getting access to perhaps unreachable facilities or giving me something to write on race entry forms.

I'm wholly in favour of a dictatorship that gets shit done.

I fully understand that having a committee designed jersey will likely result in something that looks like a child did it but I'd like to express a keenness for the top to have some touch, however minor, of the forum blue, if only 'cause I'd like to wear it in conjunction with my cap and for them to match.

  • So winter and summer kits?

  • We could ask "Mr Fuck Taxi's" to get involved in the design, but his input may be limited.

  • Example: I still have some of the older jerseys left, and always had to aim to break even off the whole run by selling 60-70% of the run.

    What sizes, plz?

  • Freaking large, and freaking small.

  • So winter and summer kits?

Just kit, focused on the jersey. With other items being totally optional as the jersey is being designed to work with lots of stock black clothing and accessories.

Aiming for end of winter, gearing up for Spring/Summer.
And then late Summer for those who missed out.

Not specifically aiming for a winter kit, because it's silly. Winter is cold, and wet, and summer gear would still work indoors (velodrome), and winter gear would be covered by waterproofs and windproof stuff.

When it's cold and wet, buy the best you can for that... I'll not claim that the single choice we'll give you will be the very best winter gear.

Summer gear though, Milltag do a phenomenal base jersey that is a big jump in quality above the equiv that other club jersey manufacturers are making.

So I can, with high confidence, say that the LFGSS summer jersey will be the best out there at this price and quite some above.

It's pretty much only possible by the club margins being very low and by pre-ordering.

  • Could I customise mine with chevrons?

  • so how many unicorns are on the jersey?

  • Actually, yes.

There's a space for you to put your username, and there's nothing that would stop you using that space to put >>>>>>>>>>>>>> should you so wish.

Anyone want to see a draft?* Acknowledging that your opinion really isn't going to sway me.

    • A few people already have, so I guess I might as well consider it leaked.
  • so how many unicorns are on the jersey?

    Current count is zero.
