  • Use a rubber band round the heal of the pad for toeing in, much easier than trying to hold a card in place.

  • Brakes are death rogan, take em off.

    Joey.

  • ^Disablist, reported.

  • I would have gone discs with decent pads from the start...

    lol

  • discs >>>>>

  • Congrats rogan this looks really good, I am well jealous.

  • discs back to manufacturer for warranty replacement >>>>>

    .

  • ^ sram lol

  • And TRP.

  • HY/RD didn't go back to manufacturer.

  • yet.

  • Something I didn't even notice in the pictures that I really like is the cable routing for the rear derailleur

I thought I was going to get a cable stop at the bottom and bottom of the seatstay, but its actually 2 bosses where the outer cable is tied to the stay, I've never seen it before, I'll have to ask matt what the reasoning was, but its certainly different!

  • hope V Twin still working well after over 18 months

I suspect it's because if you used a stop, gravity would deliver any road crud and moisture down the now exposed inner directly into the outer.

It also allows you to run a full length outer - I do.

  • sounds very right, good point

yeah mines exposed on top but from seat tube to derailleur its all covered

  • It was one of my 'special requests' to Matt to run full length brake and derailleur outer cables. If you use a SRAM MTB mech the transition from cable to mech is very neat, too.

  • and i know your all dying to know..

    it weights 8.8kg

which is more than i was expecting actually

  • wheels and tyres are 2.5 alone however

  • It's a cross bike. You could save 400g or so with a crabon frame, but it's never going to be road bike weight. My Dale ali cx frame was pretty much the same weight as the Talbot in 853

  • ^^dat kevlar...

  • Meh, as long it feel light and fast, that's all there to it.

  • hope V Twin still working well after over 18 months

    Zero problems with mine too

  • going for a decent ride tomorrow so will have a better review then

  • HY/RD didn't go back to manufacturer.

    it won't happen

    it weights 8.8kg

quite fine, mine is 9.5kg, but it rides light and aggressive
