  • I think I can get behind sunday the 22nd!

  • I'd love to come with you to do it again except being a single parent, all my rides start post 12pm on Sunday.

I'm actually quite interested in doing that: I'm looking for a 350km ride to do sometime in June, so I could do the other 170 in the morning and then join an afternoon spiral.

I'd recommend going down the cycle paths adjacent to the A312.

How are they at the moment, surface ok ? Another option is to reroute via the more "normal" roads to the west.

Did you happen to notice any particularly nasty bits of road anywhere else ?

  • This would be great! Although i'd prefer the 29th

You're on. Need to get some more base miles in for LEJOG training.

The bike paths were OK. I detest bike paths generally but I hate riding down 40mph dual carriageways even more :)

I followed bike paths along the A13 and A1020 for the same reason.

Apart from that, it's a very well considered route.

  • Might well be up for this again :D

  • I really want to do this but can't do the 22nd (Windsor ride) or the 29th. What about the 14th? Or July....

  • 14th clashes with the south end ride :( July looks pretty open but we'd have less light.

Bugger. Forgot about Windsor ride :(

  • You don't have to go! :)

  • S'all cool.

  • If the ride starts on a Saturday it would matter less if the ride finishes late. Plus there will be the Sunday to recover before (most people) start work on Monday.

  • Yup, a Saturday would also work

Only a bit less, there's at least 16 hours of daylight until the 20th of July. There's the Dunwich Dynamo on the 12th of July though.

  • 28th!

  • I could do any of: Sun 15/6, Sun 22/6, Sat 28/6, Sun 29/6

  • Not the 28th!
    That's the murtle ride!

  • Possible dates for a group ride, start time 0445 or a bit later if we want to go a bit faster:

Sat 14/6 Southend ride, Earthloop busy
    Sun 15/6

Sat 21/6 sleep following Rolling to the Stones
    Sun 22/6 Windsor ride

    Sat 28/6 Murtle ride
    Sun 29/6 Hats busy

    Sat 5/7
    Sun 6/7

    Sat 12/7 Dunwich Dynamo
    Sun 13/7 post dynamo sleep

    Sat 19/7
    Sun 20/7

  • Possible dates for a 7ven-friendly fast ride (starting in the afternoon, very small group(s), ~25kph) in July:

Sun 15/6 might clash with main group ride

    Sun 22/6

    Sun 29/6

  • 29/6 works for me!

  • Meeting at 12:30pm at Sidcup Place, aiming to finish in about 8 to 8.5 hours, 25kph target moving average, very small group(s).
