Earthloop, how do I do that? I need to check if our inadvertent breakaway group managed all 32 boroughs?
It's a pain in the arse:
tl;dr just do step 1 and drop the link here, delegate the rest to me
- upload the track to ridewithgps
- in the EXPORT tab, scroll down to the "Google Earth (.kml)
.kml" link, and download and save that file. - In google maps, go to My Places and click on the "Or create with classic My Maps" link.
- click "Import"
- in the Import KML dialog, paste this url into the text box and then click "Upload from URL": https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?authuser=0&vps=2&ie=UTF8&msa=0&output=kml&msid=204895236060369963394.0004e428ad479cbc8ded8
- now you have the borough boundaries, click Import again to add your track.
- in the import dialog, upload the .kml file you saved from ridewithgps
- click the Done button.
- If there is no KML link, click "Write a comment" and add a comment to the map, save it and go back to My Places and find your map again.
- Copy and paste the target of the KML link into the google maps search bar and press the search button
- upload the track to ridewithgps

Here's a few of my pics
I did wonder what Mrs Earthloop made of us all,I think you're all mad as a box of frogs! But I also think mad people are far more interesting to be around than sane people, which is very fortunate for Earthloop :)
Are your legs all too sore to start thinking about a nice little Winter Warmer in development? Only about 170 miles ...

Also, a special shout to Hugh for Bigfoot CC who was super kind all day and inspiration in his recent riding achievements, Tomas for being exceptionally French, the Polish (?) guys for having each other's phone numbers and Hats for bringing the Hobnobs!
Yes Hugh was exceptionally helpful all day, thanks again for fixing my brake after my little tumble. Tomas just wanted more drink after finishing his beer, so he left the group around Peckham. I think they are Russians actually. I turned down a hob nob because I was stuffing my face with pasta.
Also Martin did an excellent job at the back, keeping me company for most of the ride.

Thanks guys for the camaraderie during this mammoth day. I left home at 6.20am and returned at 12.20am after cycling 145 miles.
Well done Earthloop on the momentous planning of the ride. Who'd have thought we would be chucking our bikes over a fence and riding through playing fields to get to our 2nd stop. No wonder some got lost and then found us again at our 3rd stop.
The tranquil crossing on the Mayor of London was such a contrast of what was to come when it was lighting up time. London at night was a real buzz with pubs spilling over onto the road and cheering us on.
There were so many learned characters in the club who all seemed to know where we were at any given time. Chapeau to you all.
Thank you for the day.

BIG BIG thanks to Earthloop for organising it and to everyone else that was there.
I had a great time at the back hanging with fasih. Big H and the guy on the carbon Planet X (sorry terrible with names) were great at corking and wayfinding. Everyone naturally fell into place doing all the stuff that needs sorting on a ride which makes it such a pleasure. We did have some pretty bad rain and a headwind at points but we also had a stunning sunset and an awesome full moon too.
Won't forget sprinting down through the tunnels at the Embankment howling at the moon like a bunch of banshees.Would be well up for doing it again next year or any other similar rides.
Hope to see you all again soon. -

no bikes ?
Someone did mention bikes but everyone had already taken two steps away from the bikes. 2 meters is a long way, even when you've got 180,000+ meters to cover.

Hugh great job with the photos too. I look like Tron in Trafalgar Square.
Chapeau chaps. Really impressive work.
