2013-10-19 - London Borough Spiral Ride

Trains arriving at Sidcup at 7:25, leave the following Central LDN stations
Charing Cross 6:52
Waterloo East 6:56
London Bridge 7:00

7.30 start means a 6.15 train from Kentish Town, arriving at Sidcup at 7.25. Or a similarly lengthy ride out. Still keen even though I never like setting the alarm for a time with a 5 at the front.

What do other Kentish Towners reckon?

If thats what needs to be done then so be it, but personally would prefer a later start and finish..*

I can bring plenty of inner tubes for punctures, might ask a compensation of £1.66 per tube if too many are used. Hopefully not :)

4miles from my front door.....I really don't mind what time it starts.

Based on a 0730 start time, I've got no choice but to ride to the start. I probably shouldn't complain too much though as it's only 10 miles for me.

I'll be hitting the 7:00am London bridge train, anyone got any ideas which platform? I sense I may be running late...

Not sure I'll make it now. Had a pretty serious mechanical on my way to work this morning.

Anyone feeder riding out from east? deciding to train it or ride it

I reckon we'll start the ride with maybe 25 tops and then finish with about 3.

You've got 50 who say they'll take part. Usual drop-off rate is anywhere between 1/2 and 1/3 not turning up. So I'd say 30 will start.

I'd also say that even with the length this is psychologically easier than a similar distance in a straight line... you're always in a familiar environment not more than x miles from home.

I'd say of 30 starters, 20 finish, and the 10 that drop merely left on the last bit of the last loop as it swings geographically close to their home. Most will get that far and want to get to the very end.

It'll be a good ride. I can't make it, but I wish I could.
