Vanilla whey may be your problem right there :p
Oats whey banana pancakes work great. Need to buy a recipe book...flexible dieting one is nice (no need for a gazillion ingredients) but gave it to a friend..

My issue with the packs of bars is that I get bored/feel a bit sick of the same taste over and over.
-

That's probably true. Only just got them the other day. Quite good for the 3 or 4pm slump instead of half a packet of maltesers though.

Already out of the green stuff. Verdict: ordering more.

Some shops will do mixed boxes for the same price, though.

Wish that I had taken up weight training when I still played football. Probably would have stopped all the stupid injuries that eventually made me give it up. I miss football.

Well the chocolate chip ones anyway...

When you grip goes on 165 deadlift...
Worse is when you head goes on 60 bench. Darn, confidence issues should be too old for that shit by now.

Happens to the best of us.
Well , happens to me a lot. Some days I'm just proud I made it onto the gym floor without stubbing my toe on a 5kg db.
Recently I misplaced my mp3 player. Took me a few sessions to not feel lost. I also realised I count under my breath. And I'm a heavy breather.[oh the shame]

As long as you don't curl in the squat rack :p

Gym opened.
Went gym.
Busy as fuck.
Every day is bi/chest day in Staines.Three power stations and one deadlift platform, not bad for £12...no sauna for executive workouts though
Didn't witness curling in the squat rack

The Better gym I use near work has now been shut for 3 days in a row because of a power failure. It's really bumming me out. Gonna try and go to one of the ones near my apartment but it's much less convenient than going at lunch.

The Nike flyknit magistas have also made a massive difference :)

Going to go starting strength this time because the app for it is free.
Look forward to cleans!
Learning my warmup weights should be fun

Plugging away as usual, weight's gone up (4 lbs), raw squat has gone up (100 KG x1) hit my gym bench pb of 80 KG x1 again, arms finally getting a touch bigger and not as tired now that I'm heavier. I suspect big things are expected in the deadlift tho so work work work :)
The technique of some people in the gym...! Bench is the biggest offense, I guess with all the men wanting to bench and really not knowing how yet.

My better half wants to start training, Does anyone have any recommendations for a program to start her on?
I was thinking basic stronglifts as she can dial in her technique and not get confused by all the machines...

Kettle bells!
-
• #971
Kettle bells or squat/deadlift/bench/rows...
...but I would ask her does she fancy anything. You can't beat fun in training, so if she saw anything she wants to try I'd focus on that :)
If not sure try a few things for 3 weeks in a row and see what she likes.
I get the impression often ppl stop training cos they don't enjoy it that much. So trick is to find your happy thing (heavy and kettle bells, or cardio s'gotta be a bicycle) and you'll do it :)

thanks for the advice,
I follow a pretty standard bro-split 5 days per week, but she's said she doesn't want to train that often,
I thought stronglifts as she can keep it fun through the progression and use the app to keep tabs on it,
Also... her doing squats three days per week is going to be beneficial for me, no?

There are a ton on instagram inspo bloggers who regularly post fun/interesting routines aimed at women, I recommend them because they are easy to bring up if you're stuck for something to do at the gym

I found when I did squats 3x a week I rarely had as bad DOMS as I did when it was following leg day

Yup :)
Casein rather than whey? I've heard it cooks better but not tried. Made vanilla whey pancakes once....promptly put them in the bin.
