Reminds me of:
de Rooy: “It’s a bollocks this race! You’re working like an animal,
you don’t have time to piss, you wet your pants. You’re riding in mud
like this, you’re slipping, it’s a piece of shit…”Tesh: “Will you ever ride it again?”
de Rooy, not hesitating for a second: “Sure, it’s the most beautiful
race in the world!” -

@hippy I'm home, I'm alive! Shocking ordeal but I some how got home under 80 hours. I think going with the midfoot cleat position at the 970km mark helped me get home. I had to buy the trainers in some town as my achilles was getting facked up by my normal ones. Ankles were supported by scotch tape until I found a decent medic.

First of all thanks to everybody who made this event possible as well as everybody who finished and did not finish.
Chapeau: Audax Japan for the first 200, Texas Rando to Fougeras and the empty bedroom in St. Nicolas on Monday early evening.

Fuck me. You get my HTFU trophy for finishing in that state. Did you get much sleep after I left? You can't have been down for too long because you only lost a few hours to me and I was riding pretty hard, oh, save for the sleeping through alarm bit. Did you make your train? Pissed it down today so was an ideal v riding to/from stations. Sit bone area hurts without even moving. Found a beer shop before return so was happy with that.

Thank you. Slept very well. Dreamed that LMNH was boarded up and Nic out of a job. She built the dynamo front wheel which did an epic job. The Gamin was still at 95% at the end of the ride from the Luxos and the lights only literally dimmed for a few seconds on the climb out of Mortagne.

Just uploaded the file: 46 hours moving time, so an entire day spent in controls!
Powertap stopped after 13hrs. I'm pretty sure it had new batteries so I wonder if there's an issue (or I just forgot when I actually changed them).
Very sore today. Mouth is shredded still and gooch experiencing random stabbing pains. Legs ok, considering.

You are just starting in this kind of events and there is time to learn.
Where were you for the beers yesterday morning anyways?
Had beers and a chat about the fast end with some of the guys that beat you, so all good ;-)

That's me with less hair.
I was surprised at the number of people oblivious, sleeping on in the rain.
Two days of that rain would have fucked me up.
Would recommend.
Not doing again.
