ha, I had to have the University health plan when I went over.

I haven't been to North America for nearly ten years now...what do I need like documents obvious passport? Driving license? Do you just fill out a form on the plane or something? Holiday visa?

You need an ESTA, it is a form you complete online before you travel and print out.
It costs about $14.

Any documents that show you don't intend to stay are useful as well e.g. work docs, return flight details...

Protect your bubble do good travel insurance for about £20 (one trip) or £44 (all trips for a year). It includes a tiny £75 excess, cancellation, luggage, cash, cycling, medical, etc and no-one seems to bitch about that company online.

Choose Visa Waiver Program via ESTA (as you're a UK citizen), the rest is easy.
