Does that mean it stays like this till he looses his stripes? I hope so.

I was a little confused when I first saw it. I was thinking maybe there was some LGBT& day/anniversay/thing we should be marking. Took me a moment to connect it to the WC stripes.
Maybe we could go down the route of occaisional logo doodles between black ones to celebrate important landmarks for the community. A counterpoint to the memorialising of riders deaths. -

It would certainly be nice to commemorate the positive things members do as well as showing respect for those that are no longer with us.

It would. The rainbow is such a wonderful sight. Makes me happy. We need more forum world champs. (a forum giro rider would also look nice)

While it's good that no cyclists were killed in London in the last two days, don't forget about the two pedestrians:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/man-woman-dead-separate-bus-crashes-ealing-shepherds-bush-1496616
There doesn't seem to be a separate report on-line about the Ealing crash yet beyond the brief mentions in the above articles.
I'm just posting this because we sometimes overlook the other deaths that occur in which the victims don't happen to be riding bikes. Road danger reduction is needed for users of all modes.

Thanks for posting this Oliver. I agree that there is definitely a lack of outrage and even coverage of deaths of people while walking. I suppose peds aren't represented as well by campaigning orgs like people who ride bikes, nor do peds feel a sense of being 'in it together', being a sub-culture.
While I have ambiguous feeling about our black logo, white ghost bikes and die-ins marking tragic deaths of cyclists, your point about reducing road danger for everyone is valid, as is improving our spaces so everyone can move around without fear.
Do you know if there is a public record, log, commemoration of anyone who dies at the hands of drivers in London? (Apart from the official KSI stats published by the police/TfL). We know how many cyclists have died so far this year, how many people have been killed on London roads since January?

Interesting thread.

If someone wishes to produce .svg versions of the logo to the same spec as the existing one (yes, it's an SVG and not a .png or .gif)... then I'd certainly consider it.

OOoo.
"Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation."
Sounds like a fun challenge.
This is probably one of those, "If you need to ask, you not gonna understand the answer" type questions, but what spec is the existing SVG?

Just conform to the file:
https://lfgss.microcosm.app/api/v1/files/0266d45a0ac7c081b59c9a0213a13a9f0cada494.svgThat is: the .svg viewBox is 696px wide, by 258px high, and the aspect ratio is maintained, and the image fully fills the space.
We're using .svg as it's extremely cacheable, small, and will display sharply when rendered very small on a mobile, and large on a desktop browser.

This seems like as good a thread for that as any other?

There isn't such a thing, no. It would be a lot of work to compile. Many deaths are only reported in local media, so monitoring all those newspapers would take quite some doing.
Here's an example of a driver death:
A sad story, especially if the child is related to the driver.
