I have this. http://www.countycomm.com/aaa.html It's very good and considerably smaller than the cheap Amazon ones but I'm not sure whether you can get them in the UK

^^bumpkin*
also, flying?
*disclaimer: poster is an ex-boy scout, about to move to the country and very much looking forward to rambling, bird watching and maybe, just maybe, freeing the odd swan.

Ok, travelling on an aeroplane. I live in Switzerland, and would probably have a different attitude if I moved back to London, I used to have one of those utilikey jobbies which did almost everything I needed it to.

How rude!
Poker in the front etcetera..

@General_Strike Bangor indeed

Lovely place. I have fond memories of napping amongst the branches of the old twisted oak up on Roman Camp (I think it's known as 'Old Three Heads' locally - or rather, the Welsh equivalent.

I've been to roman camp quite abit and in the summer I reckon it would make a local picnic spot

I have one of these - excellent bit of kit. It's a locker though, and as I don't need it for my job, I wouldn't risk carrying it round.

I found this guy recently, turning EDC bits and bobs into an art form. Quite spendy for what they are, but you have to get an order in first before you can drop your cash, which is more difficult than you might think...

All County Comm stuff I own had to come through a US intermediatiary company as they do not ship overseas.
-
• #513
Quite. I've looked at almost everything on that site. Im prepared to be spendy, but I've yet to find anything that I can actually fucking buy.
-
• #514
Could be, I got some stuff shipped to my hotel when working in the US so didn't have the problem.

I've spent many a bored afternoon browsing that guys stuff.
Lovely, but at those prices pretty far from functional. It reminds me of that spoof titanium article about a guy having all the Ti.
Love this!

• #516
Anodised Ti cockring is cool too.
-
• #517
What's the bent bit of tube in the centre?
-
• #518
Broken piece of rail from Flite Italia Ti saddle.
Was reminder titanium can be a bit...delicate...for "big boned" riders.
But having reviewed thread my current plan is to grind it down and fabricate a swan free-er.

Ah. My Ti railed saddle did something similar when my cross bike attempted a decent I couldn't manage. I survived the somersaults better than it. It was it's first ride as well. Never buying Ti railed saddles again.

Light bulb blew in my bedroom this evening, added this to the edc, underappreciated piece of kit, slim, simple, cheap.

Is that a mag light solitaire LED?
I used to have one of the old regular bulb ones and always loved the way they looked. Opted for one of these for my tool kit:
The clip is useful to stop it rolling and I much prefer having a push button on the end.

Nope solitaire bulb, I love Ali but my torch failed on me when I needed it so I think I'll pass on electronics from there

Recommendations for a small torch that runs on a single AA?
-
• #524
I have a Fenix LD02, it runs on AAA, is tiny, stupidly bright, has a clip and the battery lasts long enough. Would recommend.
There's a AA version too, I think.

I have a ThruNite T01 I've been meaning to post about here. AAA battery, but the brightest LED currently available in that size - 125 lumins.
The whole thing is the size of an AA battery. I'll post a picture in a while.
I used my SAK to free a bird caught in a crabbing line last summer. I leave it on my keyring all the time, except when flying. I use it so often I can't imagine not having it anymore. Opening boxes, removing tags, cutting rope / string, opening bottles, screwdriving. I have never thought of my knife as a weapon and have been brought up to think that way. Both my grandfathers, both my parents and my brother all have a small SAK or similar on them at (almost) all times.
