  • Yup... They're coming off the other bike this weekend.

  • Ffs... Pretty much everything is built but I got a note from condor today and the trp hylex brakes aren't available until July!!

Guess the bike is on hold for a month

This is what the distributor told me the other day too. I'm after the Spyre. Annoying.

  • My cx75's are still in their boxes on the windowsill

Yup; definitely annoying. Apart from the seatpost & a chain, the entire things is build and ready... just waiting on TRP & Upgrade Bikes.

  • Frankly, if you will spec a product that hasn't come to market yet, then you have to expect a delay.

  • ^ needs grumpycat.jpg etc

    Ha :)
Fair point I guess... it's still annoying though.

  • It is. And I share your frustration, as I'm still waiting for someone to release integrated STI/Ergo hydraulic road disc levers. It's only 4 years since I bought the frame to run these on.

  • In which time the headtube standard on your frame has become obsolete by the complete lack of any decent and readily available full carbon 1.1/8th disc forks?

    Woundups don't count.

  • I have a pair of woundups. But apparently they don't count.

  • I like woundups. I have a pair that (finally) I'll use this season. But the price, import duty and near boat anchor weight kills my love for them a bit.

  • I was thinking of getting a pair of wound up cx forks for the all city

  • There's a (disc) pair for sale on here in sexh black.

  • So, an update on the project.... the whole thing is built except for brakes & bar tape.

The problem I have it that I just spoke to TRP and the Hylex (full hydraulic) brakes have been pushed back (again) until the end of July.

They have the HY/RD brakes available today (Hydraulic but compatible w/ cable levers).... should I order these or should I wait?

  • I'd wait. Get some cheapie leavers and some CX75s in the meantime?

  • ^ what howard said + pics!

  • I'd wait. Get some cheapie leavers and some CX75s in the meantime?

    CX75s?

    It's disc brake only...

  • Thought I'd gone bonkers then for a second. Nope - CX75s are shimano's cheapie and light cable pull discs.

  • Ah... hmmm, by the time I've bought a set of those, it's going to be £100.

I might as well buy the HY/RD and not the Hylex or wait for the Hylex.

Either way, i'll try to get some pics up over the weekend.

  • Whats the cost diff between Hylex and HY/RD ?

  • About £30 cheaper for HY/RD

  • WAIT for Hylex and if you are keen to ride source cheap used BB5/CX75 on ebay or something.

  • About £30 cheaper for HY/RD

Including the price of cables and a leaver?

Fuck you and your sense making comments... balls.

  • Sorry :(
