Great event, sucks, that there was police involved.
Thanks to everyone who shouted at me, it felt like it was on every corner.
After about 3-4 laps an Italian dude left a gap between me and the other two leading riders, then sprinted off to join them, at that point I tried to do the same, but the gap was getting bigger, as three of them were working together and I was left on my own. Looks like I've finished 4th, which isn't exactly what I was aiming for. -

Great day of racing, sad we missed the end.
Well done Dimi!
If anybody cares about that business with the Police..
Went to Nocturne, having great time.
Sat kid up on a wall behind a fence so she could see the penny-spin.
Went to the toilet and came back Kris was up on the wall too, so I joined them. One of the warm bodies that they employ to fill out hi viz jackets told me to get down "because there was a fence".
I refused, he got cops.
Cops came and left as I wasn't trespassing or causing a public order offence.
Way later, end-level-boss of the fence guards comes along and says the same thing as his minion.
I refused and he got more cops.
Cops came in force, including one with a special hat who I assume was their chief.
They said to get down and I refused.
They said I would be done for Child Endangerment if I didn't come down.
They said they would pull us down(off the wall and over a fence - endangering my child) if I didn't come down.So we came down because they couldn't be reasoned with.
A cop pulled one open and one unopened bottle out of Kris's hands and threw them to the floor causing them to smash.
The cop said this was "because he was worried" (Kris) "would use them as weapons".Essentially they bullied a peaceful family enjoying some cycle racing.
..
Did you get their names?

Results are in. Last few laps I had a group of other 3 riders sitting on my wheel, refusing to do any work whatsoever. On the last lap one of them overtook me, I was thinking it was one of the guys who I lapped, so I am 5th.

Trouble was, that was a difficult corner for the un-initiated. Me included. If you didn't have power in your legs to control your deceleration, you needed to brace your arms on the tops of the bars to get some braking power through the legs.

Thanks for the support everyone. It was an amazing experience to be racing at such an event.
Did anyone see the penny crash? Everyone walked away, though there as some blood and a big wheel died - Penny farthing crash at the 2013 London nocturne, rear facing on bike camera. - YouTube
