  • Hi girls, I'm afraid I did myself a stupid injury at the Bike Polo European Champs in Krakow last weekend and won't be able to come on Sunday! Wahhhhh. Hope you have a wonderful time, the weather's gonna be gorgeous. Tres jealous :(

  • Right: how about meet at 9 for a 9.30am departure?

There's a train from London Bridge at 9.08 that gets into Greenwich at 9.16am. Could change RV point to Greenwich Station no probs. More shops for coffee/snacks etc too.

    What do people think?

  • I'm happy to accommodate so others can join us, plus a bit more of a lie in for me!

Edit: I am going to pm shaarday just to confirm she still wants to come before we change everything around?

  • Good plan! Lets see what happens, I'm flexible and I'm sure others will be too.

  • Ladies, just want to say have a super smashing time on Sunday! So gutted to be missing this one.
As it turns out fate played its card and I have to start new medication tonight that means I'd have had to drop out anyway due to the side effects.
    I can't believe I'm missing it :(
I'll be there in spirit. ENJOY!

  • Hi All, please add me to the roll call =) it will be my first 100K I am excited and a bit scared at the same time =) Just to Confirm what is the meet up time in Greenwich, 9 am? Looking forward to meet you all

  • All looks great to me - will be coming down from E17 to Greenwich. I'm a first timer to Naty, sure there'll be more of us. So looking forward to it!

    Any kit tips anyone?

  • Bring as little as possible I reckon. Bring a couple of spare inner tubes and maybe a few bananas and jelly babies (or sweets of choice) We'll never be far from shops/civilisations so you won't need to bring all of the food/water.

As for clothing I'm going for LFGSS Ladies jersey and shorts (padded shorts underneath!)

    And suntan lotion!

  • Oh and there are lots of new faces I think so don't be worried about being the new kid :)

  • I'm in Peckham!

Will PM you - and will think some thoughts re: getting everyone to the ball.

I'm coming from Camberwell and will be cruising down Queens Rd and New Cross if you want to form a convoy!

I disagree. Everybody should all be doing grimaces of suffering and pain as they put chips in their mouths. Have people on their knees, sobbing, arms in the air, grime on their faces, before an ice cream van. Get a couple of people to do a donkey ride race with really srs bsns faces.

And you have no idea how up for this I am.

  • Last night I fiddled with my saddlebag so I could attach it to my bars, looks retarded but I am NOT bringing a backpack for this shit, who needs a sweat patch before they even get to Greenwich, not me!

I am debating leaving my jacket to minimise stuff-bringing, but know I'll regret it if I do...

  • It's going to be 20 degrees at 10pm tomorrow. No jackets required!

  • Do you really trust that forecast? There's nothing I dislike more than getting tired and subsequently cold after a long ride - you always feel it more.

  • It's only 40 miles. Even with multiple stops you'll be on the beach by 3:30pm and if it does start to snow, there'll be ~5bn pubs you can hide in until it stops. Definitely no jackets required.

  • But I must maintain my tradition for vastly overpacking for everything!
We ARE starting early though. I'm more thinking about the time my mate and I cycled to Brighton, starting just a bit too late and stopping at every pub along the way and then sitting on the seafront for ages as it got dark. I had to jacket and snood it up on the train home!

  • Also the route to Brighton has hills in it, whereas this one doesn't really have any :p You'll be fine without it, honest. And if it does get dark then drink more booze until you feel warm. taps nose

  • ¬_¬

  • Sorry to be massively spamming the thread (I'm in work on a sunny saturday, please forgive me!) but I haven't heard from shardaay at all yet, so Plan A meet 8:30 for 9am depart is go ?

Sorry for the hassle - I was just trying to include everyone, but I don't want to screw with organisation either...

  • i would love to still come! i can be at liverpool st at 8.51, is anyone okay with meeting me there/near there?? sorry to be such a pain, i've only cycled in central london once before and got horribly lost!

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Talk about coinky dink, posted at literally the exact same time - I was worried you wouldn't see the thread and we'd wait around for no reason! OK - I can do meets unless anyone else is coming past Liverpool St and knows the way?

  • Hurrah! That's awesome news Sharday! Glad you can make it. There's also a train option from LB if that suits better.

Will update first post to MEET FROM 9am for 9.30 DEPARTURE FROM OUTSIDE GREENWICH STATION

  • Cool, I will meet shardaay and we might jump on the train for speed and less tiredness, but if she doesn't know london, getting from Liverpool St. to LB on time for the train might be tricky - traffic etc can be a little confusing!

  • I'm really sorry to have to bail at such short notice, but position two is up for grabs. Family stuff prevents me from joining this ride. Poots, I'll contact you later re collecting my jersey.

Looking forward to reading lots of posts and seeing lots of red faces, arms and legs in the pics, whilst being a dark shade of green and being glad my dark skin doesn't show sunburn evil grin and sad face combined

Seraphinx and any one else: PM me your mobile of you want my number.

Everyone else: see you tomorrow from 9am!

P.s those worried about not knowing anyone, new names/faces massively outcount the old school so we'll all be new together innit!

I just checked trains for tomoz and it looks like bus rail replacement service from LB. We will wait for you!
