Moody black and white shots wearing Milltag rather than Rapha! Let's see how many they publish ; )
Are ladies jersey's recommended then? I was going to wear a jersey that isn't black due to the forecast on Sunday.

and ...all smiling and laughing...no suffering...
I disagree. Everybody should all be doing grimaces of suffering and pain as they put chips in their mouths. Have people on their knees, sobbing, arms in the air, grime on their faces, before an ice cream van. Get a couple of people to do a donkey ride race with really srs bsns faces.

How's the splint working out? I've been praying for your Lazarus like recovery, so the Bambino Gesu better not let me down. Again.

Don't forget bikinis and trying to look very cold and upset in the water at the beach!
I am so looking forward to dehydration and sunburn, can't wait!

Going back to hospital in an hour, will know more then.
I love the thought of you praying for me though. Earlier this year when I was having a really shitty time with work/house/boys my mum said that she was praying for me - when I pointed out that she is a terrible lapsed catholic she just smiled enigmatically. And look how all that worked out! If my mum's anti-prayers can do that then I have high hopes for yours!!

That's the spirit! You'll be having a pint with me at lunchtime then, rather than the sensible water/lemonade option yeah?

I was going to spend my lunchtime reading David Millar's "Racing Through the Dark" (inspiration for Sunday innit) but I'm actually going to re-double my efforts.
I used to be sunday school teacher you know AND I've got an A/S Level in Christian Theology, so I have this shit down. Also, I'm a Methodist which is all the long boring bits of Catholicism but none of that guilt/purgatory/eternal hellfire nonsense, so those high hopes, or "faith" as those in the religious know call it, are justified.
Or something. I will also keep my fingers crossed as a back up innit.

I'm debating a second bottle rack and loading it up with cider. Sun just isn't the same without a nice cold sharp cider. Did a Brighton run with a mate a couple of weeks back and we stopped in almost every pub along the way!

Hey ladies,
This looks fantastic - the main London ride is full, but looks like fate's playing me a card, as this looks so much better!!
Please can I join you? Ride fixed 20 miles daily fast, plus done quite a few 3-4 hour rides (easy pace) as well - but this'll be my first long ride, so be gentle with me.... so was quite pleased to see the coffee, lunch breaks :)Let me know if I need to do anything else to register etc!
Thanks & looking forward to it!
I've removed your email what it being a public forum an' that - Poots

earliest i can get to london liverpool st. is 8.51, but i also have no idea how to get from there to greenwich, so that could take a while. i think i'll just do cambridge to london by myself instead. but hopefully will make another ride soon, it'd be great to meet you all!
Awwwh. Could we not delay leaving til 9:30 to give her time to get down! Don't let the train Nazi's dictate the day!

Can anyone lead a fast peloton from Liverpool St at 9am?
-
• #245
yo i'm based in peckham - any meeting points in south-east?
can't wait for the beach!
-
• #246
I'm on the OKR, but if shardaay really wants to come and no one else is going past Liverpool Street I don't mind whizzing up to get her. It's a regular route for me so should be minimal delays getting back to Greenwich (though fast peleton might be a questionable title...)
-
• #247
I am coming past Liverpool street but I do not know the way from there to Greenwich. That's why I'm meeting the West peleton at Tower bridge.. Is there not a way, hive mind!

Will PM you - and will think some thoughts re: getting everyone to the ball.

Evil face Yessss come get me from Liverpool street! Take 5 mins there from my door = longer in bed for me.
Oh man! I've missed all sorts of tricks setting this up. Where was the ballot for places? Where was the fancy online registration? Where was the entry fee?
I SUCK at this.
