  • Lol! Doesn't mean I ride a fixie or single speed! I'm on here to meet cyclists :)

I've only been riding since October and my longest ride to date is 37 miles.

Hope I'm not gonna get kicked out now? :)

  • The rest of us will have a secret meeting and get back to you on that. Please take a seat, we won't be long.

  • ^ ha!

I wouldn't worry about it, loads of people ride geared bikes. I first joined for broadly the same reason you did (also to improve my roadcraft) and I didn't have an ss/fg either for about a year. You should totally get one, though :p

This whole forum seems to be going the way of gears and some rides are a bit more particular but the ladies forum & forum rides is a bit more relaxed. Seriously bruv, erm, sis, come down Londons for the weekend. I'm sure we can find a bed/floor for you somewhere if you wanted :)

In other news, special guest appearance from missmouse. Woo and indeed hoo!

Also: does anyone fanci knocking up a spoke card?

Ive ridden a BMX in the past does that count? hahaha!

  • As Bothwell has already confirmed (blabber-mouth) it's about the bike, not whether it's geared, fixed/ss.

See you on the ride? Mine's a pint of the black stuff :-).

  • I'll be riding geared. You won't be alone!

  • I just got a geared, as in, just picked it up! I'm probably going geared too!

  • I'll be fixed, 46 17, I only have one bike so I'm sure it'll be fine as it's fairly flat..

  • Also: does anyone fanci knocking up a spoke card?

    May I?

Eyyy! Lovely stuff Ellie! Welcome on board :)

I'm actually thinking of starting some TNRC lite after school specials through the summer, if people are interested? Like Bendix's Afterworkers but more like 30 miles rather than 50...

  • I would be up for that, much more fun than spin classes in the gym..

  • Most things in life > than spinning classes but 500 calories for 45 mins work is not to be sniffed at, eh?
