Last time I did a long (long for me!) ride I couldn't sleep afterwards and had a looong tired day the next day. I can't do that at work on Monday, I'm a bit worried..

I'm back, Back, BACK! I'm amazed/impressed how many people want to come along
(and a little intimidated but if it's going to be a shambles, we'll all be a shambles together, right?)
I think Poots is still on holiday so may say otherwise but 10am in Greenwich seems to be the order of the day.
Training, if you mean practicing eating chips and ice cream, is encouraged, but no other training is necessary. It's a fun day out in the sun.
Speaking of which, (/engagemummode) please please please can everyone take water and sunblock along. The forecast looks great but these things might make the difference between a fab day and a miserable slog. /disengagemummode
Also ALL OF THIS, except departure time 9am...so say meet 8.30 for a 9am departure - I'd kind of like to get out of the London bits as quickly as possible/before it gets busy given the size of the group.
Does that sound ok? Also given that it's going to be sorchio, we'll be stopping fairly regularly and should never be too far from refreshment sources.

Poots, where in Greenwich is the meeting point?
I get a new splint on Friday so will see if it is bike friendly, who knows, you may all get to see my ugly mug after all.
-
• #183
I was just getting round to you ; ) Exact meeting point in 1st post.
Catching up was sad to hear of your injury/understandable bailing, but fingers crossed you can make it. I will pray for you. Or something like that.
Can a couple of people volunteer for backstop duties? I'm thinking if there are a couple of people, turns can be taken and all that hoopla?

I can do a shift on the back as well. I'll load the route onto my Garmin too.
Boo at earlier start, but understandable!
Earliest boat doesn't leave embankment until 9:30, so I guess we are riding out Mands.

I was thinking HPC, over westminster bridge, follow the river along to the Rotterheim tunnel, then cut across along Lower Road to Greenwich. Not an amazing route, but pretty direct.
Not done the OKR way before, but it could be shorter.
-
• #190
OKR is a horrible but fast way...
You way sounds good too (better as it avoids OKR). Happy with that. -
• #191
You make it sound like OKR is some kind of menace, it's really not that bad! (I take it down to work in Greenwich every day). Here was me hoping that after working Saturday, I might get a WEEE lie in on Sunday not having to be there til 10. No rest for the wicked!
-
• #192
OKR is fine, much better than Rotherhithe tunnel. Don't even think about it, it's super grim!

Sweet. Meet you at the Hilton at Paddo.
Anyone else want to drop in on the feeder?
-
• #195
What time will you hit Tower Bridge/Tooley Street crossing? I could meet you there if that's cool.
-
• #196
That's my whole commute into work so reckon we hit there bit before 8am.
Let's just say 8am to make it easier. We're early anyways.

awh, theres no way i can get to london till after 9, so not gunna make this :( have a lovely ride though ladies!
-
• #199
It's looking rather like i am not going to make this ride after all as I've very badly pulled a muscle in my shoulder doing... something, I'm not sure what, and I've also possibly broken a toe by kicking some carelessly-placed weightlifting equipment while barefooted. So, um, it is probably best if I stay at home and try not to break anything else. Have fun, folks!

noooooooooo to both of you...
this makes me sad.
i also broke my ampleman. that made me sad.
There's a suggestion ripe with potential incident.
