Yeah I figured they'd use checkpoints, I just wasn't sure where they were and was slightly puzzled by the southward heading.

Early days yet, but @Skinny seems to be going great, although a couple of people seem to have come past him since I last checked. @hippy 's pal Ultan Coyle has some long distance pedigree and seems to be in a pretty convincing position too.

I don't know anything about Josh other than his two second places but I know Ult is quick and can handle multiday stuff and skinny is pumped for this and has also tested himself over multiple days and sleep dep so it's gunbegud.

Josh Ibbet? Holds the record for the South Downs way I think, was on track to win the Highland Trail this year too until his suspension linkage exploded

So he likes the dirt :)

Coyle and Ibbett (and one or two others presumably) haven't stopped at all yet- their stats say average moving speeds of 32.7kph and 30.8kph respectively and they've been riding for 18 hours.
Impressive!

Watching this unfold is deeply boring on a minute-by-minute basis, but building up real excitement as things like mountains and stops crop up.

So basically @skinny a relately unknown person in the world of endurance racing managed to keep up with two of the well known endurance rider.

This is gonna be interesting.

Yep, he's been stopped by the edge of a straight road with nothing on it, by a field, for at least 10 minutes.
