Me too - I'm going for shorts + jersey, then a thin waterproof/windproof jacket to stuff in my saddlebag to deploy if I get cold. I might also pack some thicker socks for full nodder points.

I'm just about to book my train ticket from Cambridge to Liverpool Street for what looks like a nice easy roll up Cambridge Heath Road to the start. #neverriddenroundeastlondon
I've been let down by the two blokes who said they'd do it with me, so will be [desperately] looking for some friends. Please say hai to the lonely man on the black Vitus with rear 4spok spinergy.
ETA : Jesus obviously wants me to do this ride as my chosen train ticket was only £8. I briefly considered paying £12 for first class and eating the £4 back in free crisps, but decided I'd look odd in the posh seats.
i'm coming from whittlesford with my dad, so may be on your train, say hi if you see a blue/orange kona paddywagon and a genesis road bike!

What kit are people taking tomorrow?
Thinking of a base layer & jersey and leg warmers and maybe another layer for if it gets more chilly.
I'm thinking short bibs and short-sleeved jersey. Maybe arm warmers. It's only supposed to get down to 15C overnight so shouldn't need more than that.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to assist the caterers at Sible Hedingham. I'm sure I'll work it out somehow. -

And the 'barcode' is actually blank on my email...

I've eaten all my jelly snakes, so now i won't have any left for the DD. Am I going to die? Maybe I should bring a torch so I can forage in hedgerows and people's bins so I don't starve.
I have eaten all my Percy Pigs :(

Woo, I'm in!
I'd only recognise a couple of you, but if you see me riding a red '50s Holdsworth with a diddy chrome mudguard then throw up some unidentifiable LFGSS 'gang sign' as you pass. I'll be coming from Potters Bar so gonna join the main route at the Epping area.

I've decided to hit the beach, turn around and go straight back to Ipswich station this year. No hanging about!

^Me too. Thinking of fitting some aerobars for the drag back down the A12 with a tailwind.

It's going to be a shame to have to cover up my super jersey with a merino layer when it gets colder.
Packing: 3 inner tubes, tyre levers, patches, multitool, as much flapjack (90% banana) as I can fit and a pack of shot bloks. Might tape the remaining three bananas to my top tube.
Oh and spare batteries.Thankfully a friend with panniers is transporting my beach stuff.

I had a call on Friday evening from a guy in Sible Hedingham to warn of a closed section of Weathersfield Road leading up to Church Street. According to the Essex County Council Highways website, there is still access to properties in the affected area, but otherwise my informant says that there is a road diversion in place which could add two kilometres or more to the journey. If there is access for local people, maybe cyclists will be OK, even if it means dismounting for a short section. Still, we've been warned that there could be a problem, and should bear this in mind.
