I went a couple of years ago and riding to Ipswich or similar after a sleep on the beach was not fun in the slightest.

Is that the 'party bus' Pat?
-
• #780
There's prosecco, so I'd guess it's more of a 'gathering' bus.

scheduling fail, the mrs has booked in a couple of friends to come over and stay. WTF. Out.
That said, I have just earned enough guilt/brownie points to be able to go riding on the continent later in the year instead.

Will there be blinis on the gathering minibus?

Ha BEDWETTER award still intact then? saves you getting to the first pub before faking a mechanical and peeling off for home because you did not have permission to be out all night.

Hi guys
I have a spare coach ticket for Sunday Morning (I say 'spare' but what I really mean is that i've injured my back and reluctantly have to pull out. Gutted!). This is my first post so I don't think I have privileges to send a PM, but should be able receive one and reply.
Get in touch if you want to buy it
Cheers

Had a lovely and cool dawn ride this morning, as the sun came up crossing the Thames was beautiful. Wish everyone riding to the coast this weekend a happy spin and refreshing dip in the sea with no mechanicals or grumps en route. Watch out for owls and bats accompanying you. I'm watching le tour :)

I'm going to ride to similar (Braintree) this year, I shall take your advice and not sleep on the beach.

The feed stop will be at Sible Hedingham, yes. Make sure you don't miss it--you have to keep going along Church Street in SH and not follow the sweeping turn into Rectory Road.
NB the village hall in Great Waldingfield became much too small around 2009. It's extremely unlikely that the feed will be there again, although of course the route still goes past it.
'sfunny, I could of sworn I have been to Waldingfield for grub since 2009??
Sleep deprivation and aging/damaged/abused memory skills most certainly to blame. -

Great Waldingfield was last used for the DD in 2009, yes. By that time, there were far too many riders for it to be suitable. It's been at Sible Hedingham since 2010.

Ok not long to go and the important questions have still to be asked. What gear ratio is everyone thinking about running?
-
• #792
44:17.
Would prefer 18 or 19 but don't think I'll have time to sort that -
• #793
Oof. 75 GI at 50x18, so somewhere between my two favourites of 44x16 and 49x17. I'm tempted to go to 49x18 but I did 20 miles on my loaded bike around South East and it seemed fine. I want to be able to keep up without spinning like a loon but also be able to get up those hills without fucking myself.

Also looking for a coach ticket, I'm a new member so if you have one PM me please as I can't PM you until I've made 3 posts and been on here for 24 hours. Thanks!

Ok not long to go and the important questions have still to be asked. What gear ratio is everyone thinking about running?
Various, with little levers on the down tube to adjust which I'm using depending on the gradient of the road.
It's the future.
Are there any spare bus tickets? Please drop me a p.m if you have one.
