Double Brooks tape? Fancy.

Greetings Sparky,
Well the whole bike is a Rasta / mid life crisis mash up.
I like leather tape as it feels nice.
Look out for this bike and it's rider plodding steady eddie style through Essex and Suffolk... feel free to say hello as you all whizz past me...
Peace and Love,
Tim.For those not in the know....
P.S. It's good to hear 'torque' of another pit stop en route. Sudbury is about 70 miles in so a great place to top up those bottles etc.
P.P.S. Once you have reached Sudbury you leave Essex and enter the glory of Suffolk and have circa 50 miles to go. -

I'm heading to Croatia for a week of partying followed by a week of relaxing, flying back at Saturday lunchtime for a spot of food and sleep and then heading along for this with a mate. Looking forward to it, although I suspect the 2 weeks away will make it a touch harder to get through.
I need to pick up some cheapish lights for this, anyone have any recommendations?

Good reviews about these.

Really really good and speedy service. Got mine within 20hrs of order.
He threw in rear light too which was ace. Chunky mounts and not little elegant lights like the tiddly Cateye ones but they'll get you through the night no problem. -

Arse plaque is a serious problem and it's only right that he should deal with it.
It pays to be careful when flossing though...

Does anyone know whether tandem is allowed on train or not? My friends are riding a tandem but still figuring out how to get back to London. We haven't got coach tickets back to London.
Any suggestion!! Thank you -

Greetings Dull,
I'm sure your name is purely ironic. Not that the number of friends you have on here is any indication of popularity or dull-ness for that matter. But I did notice that you do not currently have any friends on here.
So friendship request sent.
Come on you lot let us make Dull very welcome....
Dull please let everyone know what sort of bike you are on, so on the ride
we can cheer you on your merry way.
You won't be alone, just turn up at London Fields by 8 pm and you will have thousands of friends ready to ride with you to the coast.
Peace and Love, especially from Ramaye....,
Tim -

I was just worried cause I haven't been to a forum event before and my friend who I was planning on riding with pulled out due to getting more into track racing!

I'm hoping to ride but have been off the bike now for four weeks with a virus. I'll ride if I'm strong enough. I'll be in my Eagle Road Club kit - very distinctive - the Swedes nicked our jersey design for their National Flag
-
• #445
Might be a silly question but do people change their sleeping pattern a day or two before or not really? This is my first DD :)
-
• #446
The Eagle kit is probably the worst designed club kit in East London.

I'm on a 3pm to midnight shift on Friday night - pain in the bum 99% of the time but will probably help out in this instance.
:)

I just try and get a nap on the Saturday afternoon also reduce coffee intake for a few days before and bring a flask of strong black sweet coffee on the ride.

Thinking about how to get back has put me off doing this - the coach sounds like hell on wheels, trains are a hassle, I can't be bothered to drive there the day before and riding to my parents afterwards is another 90 miles, which I can't be bothered with (erm, not to discourage anyone or anything). Instead I'm going to ride my turbo trainer at home and enjoy the final stages of Le Tour on tv.

Have a word with senior bear about the CS Gruppetto luxury minibus. You can spend the journey mocking their wannabe team sky kit.
Additional pit-stop confirmed:
Hi Alex,
I can confirm that we will be opening the shop and Weston's Cafe
practically next door will be open too!
We'll both be open from about 10 until approximately 4am which should cover
the majority of riders.
We are again not charging for labour for any repairs and this year have
stock from the whole shop to call upon incase spare parts are needed.
Weston's Cafe will be open with a selection of cakes, flapjacks, cold and
hot drinks.
Also onsite are large public amenities with free drinking water.
We will have signs out from Ballingdon hill (the A131) which is the big
downhill that rolls into town, its a sharp left at the bottom and we're
about 200-300 yards off piste. Our postcode here is CO10 7GB.
I hope that we can get the word out and help as many people as we did last
year.
