  • @ Poots/Jess - oh go on then. You've twisted my arm, assuming I'm free on the dates you eventually propose :-).

  • Or this: http://www.lfgss.com/thread106773.html#post3604877 on Bank Holiday Monday - The Eccentrics Ride as organised by the good folk of LBK

  • I have work on Thursday but deffo signed up to the Eccentrics Ride. Looks fun!

  • Anyone fancy another before that? I'm obsessed with night rides atm but also have some routes to try out from the 'Lost Lanes' book.

I'm thinking of doing a re-run of the Only Way is Essex (And Herts) ride before Herne Bay if people are interested, now the weather is a bit better....well, at least less likely to snow whilst we're out!

Yes please to both of these!

  • I'm thinking get the train to Canterbury or Ashford, do a relaxed 40 miles to the coast as a warm up to Herne Bay? The routes will overlap and I think we can group save too.

I also have a lovely route to Anne Boleyn's castle!

  • If you start a thread they will come*

*obvs disclaimer of people being available and all that blah.

  • In! (date dependant) Moar rides please!

  • well up for cycling to the coast, especially if its as nice as Sunday weather wise. I've signed up for the eccentrics ride as well.
(and a night ride sounds great)

  • I'm definitely up for more 40+ mile rides.
I think that was the general consensus on the day. Ladies want to ride!
General excuses for not getting out there more include - don't know any good routes/where to go/best way of working routes out without a GPS etc.
Basically I think there are a lot of us that would just like to follow someone - ie go on regular led rides. Leaders?!

  • In! (date dependant) Moar rides please!

    ditto.

  • If anyone wants to come to the Peak District this weekend....

  • Peak district is ace. Whereabouts are you going, hats?

  • It's all a little vague so far! Snake Pass for sure and staying overnight in Ravenstor. Other than that, I don't know. Come!

  • Not for me! Sunday is the last day of the Giro and I basically refuse to miss it, and on Saturday I'm going to drink beer and go roller racing.

If you happen to find yourself on the other side of the Peak District then have a go at Riber Road, it should make you giggle. There's also a castle at the top! (you can't go in, though)

  • Very funny, I read that ride report. There's no chance I'm going anywhere near Riber Road. Much as I love a castle.

  • Spookily enough (or maybe not) I will be in Peaks this weekend. Maybe we should meet mid way for a cup of tea? And you should do Riber - the climb is awful, but the descent is definitely worse.

  • ^ you should write holiday brochures.

  • Did anyone record our route home, by any chance?

Ha, I'm not stalking you, honest! Let's definitely meet up in the Peaks :)

This is the route, minus the wrong turns: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2481927

  • ^ This means I actually did 52 miles on Sunday in total! Woo! :-D

  • May join you on girlie rides soon. Have started riding for longer at weekends and plan to build myself up, I'll wait until I can actually get over a hill without dieing though.

Simon if you happen to read this, don't get too excited, this does not mean I'm happy to go on your so called (often hilly) shortcuts.

  • Haha, your route home took you straight past my front door. Sorry to have missed this one but thanks for sharing the pics!

  • I'll just leave this here
