• They shouldn't show pictures of the bike, someone may recognise it. RIP rider, another female fatality, another HGV.

  • RIP Always sad to hear.

  • Yes, used to work in Victoria St - company moved to Cheapside & at St Paul's one day there was a HGV/Cyclist police show. Talked to one of the law saying Victoria St was a death trap with construction lorries tearing up & down - response 'Oh, I'm often up at Scotland Yard and I haven't noticed that'! Well, I did - on that stretch after the lights at Broadway up to Parl Sq it was like those big trucks were let off a leash, they really used to hammer along.

  • RIP rider.

  • really sad news. just too sad for words really. tears only.

thoughts and prayers for the rider, family and friends.

  • RIP Rider

  • Rip.

  • Cyclists describe street online as 'race track'

    Standard. Someone's reading this thread.

  • Often happens.
It is defo worth bearing in mind when contributing to these threads that the audience may include relatives of the injured/deceased and journos looking for some quick and easy content.

This is why this sub forum has rules which are enforced, I'm more than happy to delete posts with no warning.

I would hasten to add that the Standard's "news report" originally relied almost entirely on quoting peoples twitter posts, which is in and of itself ridiculous. Twitter is a giant rumour mill, nothing more.

  • this is awful news, RIP.

  • Just terrible. Another sad day.

    Rest in peace.

  • The quality of the reporting at this early stage seems a bit sketchy. The Standard reporting the victim to be in her 30s and London24 reporting her to be in her 20s.
    Sad day either way :(

  • R.I.P. My thoughts go out to the family and friends.

  • Horrible news, RIP.

  • Terrible news. I cross that junction almost every day and have often been worried about the lorries from the building site. Awful to see this recurring, predictable combination of cyclists killed by lorries turning left at junctions happening yet again :(

  • RIP
Thoughts for family and friends :(

  • Rip

  • RIP rider

  • Lets not try to blame the 'evil lorries' here. The driver was released for a reason and this isn't the place either way.

    R.I.P

  • a sad tragedy, our love and support for her friends and family

  • Rest In Peace.
