My new shirkhorse while I wait for my new forks.
Just rode it to Clapham from work and it took 5 mins longer than on Harry.
The rear hub is fucked and the chain comes off by looking at it

Well I've already broken it.
Rea hub axle is snapped, gear twist shifter is jammed and the front brake has also broken. It'll do to get to the station and back.
Saddle is super comfy though.

He's back
Anybody got a 1" 5mm spacer they can GIVE me by post? Will I die if I ride it home with out one?
I shimmed the crown race too, also will I die?

Will check parts bin tonight - I did have one at some stage in the recent past.
Shimming forks will not kill you.
It may leave you with tight spots in steering or a bit of play when you hit the brake -

Cheers James
I just rode it around the car park grinning.
It's actually a 2mm but a 5mm would be fine I reckon until I buy a new black one.
Didn't appear to be any play plus I noticed I had the break blocks on the wrong way around but we'll see...

Thanks mate but I popped to the lbs and he gave me two 1mm spacers which are perfect.
These new forks means I have toeverlap now. I didn't notice until I tried track standing at the lights and it cause me to unclip, no fall though.

Hope you are ok and not scarred physically. -

Nope, I was just setting off when it snapped so no tarmac breakfast for me.
A+++ Would use again

Glad to hear it
New chainset looks rad btw -

It now makes the chain look brown for some reason.

This bike should be renamed to triggers broom
-

You will love this. For some reason when it gets wet and then left it develops a greyish hue where it was wet and I saw this on the headtube.
I superstitious man would fuck this bike off but I love it.

All the Herne Hill bikes used to be Harry O, they sold them off a while a go so this could well be one
Look like it confirm spatra's statement, the number usually shown on hired bike.

Current setup
Changed stem from 100mm to 85mm
Changed saddle for super suede Turbo
MKS pedals and rapid cages
Nasty (cheap) bar wrapExcuse the chain tugs but they are on because I'm having an issue with the chain coming off.
Needs a new wheelset as I've over tightened the rear and it no longer spins freely by hand and a new front as the brake surface is smoother than my baldy head.
Trendy insta shot

Seatpost is now snapped inside the frame :(
Awaiting Amourtex costings to see if it is worth saving as the seat lug still needs replacing.
Time for a new bike...
given CB's proclivity to breaking his bikes it won't be on there for long anyways.
