Not that I'm objecting, but didn't we do Roydon quite recently?
You been on the booze again?
-
• #953
average mph?
gears allowed? -
• #954
Typical TNRC gearing is 65gi so at 90rpm we will be doing 17.5mph. We don't tend to go much above this on the flats, gears are welcome but don't tear off the front as the speed is the speed for a reason.
Overall ride averages tend to be between 13 and 15 due to hills etc... but if you can maintain 18 on the flat you should be fine.

I think the last Roydon was 17.7mph average and it did feel fast to me. I'm really slow and I was fine though.
-
• #957
Yeah, i think the average was 17.7 but I think the sharp end of the sprint averaged something like 25 mph. When/Where did we start sprinting by the way? I tried to figure this out on Sunday when I was riding out that way, but I couldn't!

Ten bloody miles from the end! At the last big left turn
-
• #959
yeah, I had my suspicions. I figured out the correct way back. i.e didn't follow Ludwig up the 10% incline...

Delicious!
5. radmich (19.11 train or maybe even an earlier departure)(but i'm pre-committed unfortunately)

NB, the sprint is entirely voluntary and it is entirely possible to amble along to the pub in plenty of time for a beer.
-

hairnetnic the heretic
The sprint is entirely compulsory, I and many other go flat out to the pub.
It's just that to the untrained eye my flat out can look like a leisurely amble.

I didn't get a longer ride done this weekend, so will probably ride out, ride round, ride home. Not bothered about being on any lists.

I enjoyed it last time. Am I welcome a second time or have you all learned your lesson?
Not that I'm objecting, but didn't we do Roydon quite recently?
