  • I just follow anyone with a correctly obscured rear light.

  • Sounds about right

  • On the other hand, if the skys clear for long enough, we have this...

indeedy - might bring the 11x80s in my carradice (or not)

  • Not sure if I am missing a gag / other reference, but if you are referring to route sheets, then I have taken to using this for all route sheets:

    http://bit.ly/13JncGa

I print or photocopy onto it to make indestructible sheets for rides. For best results, a bit of prep is required. Depending on your preferred size, 2 A4 sheets can be reduced to half size or 4 sides reduced to generate small quarter pages. A bit of cutting later and you are good to go.

You are. The TNRC is well known for having people sign up for a ride only to pull out on the day due to the weather/other commitments/lack of lights/surprise trips to IKEA. The collective term for these is "bed wetting".

  • You had to mention fucking IKEA didn't you.

  • You'd have complained if I hadn't.

  • True dat

  • ^^It's never been the TNRLJC.

^I notice my placing on that table is part of a solo 85 mile ride at 17.8mph in January last year, including a minute stop at the lights.

I'll be sure to do some targeted training and then get the train to Stortford one day when there's a strong northerly wind, warm-up on the rollers at my Auntie Joan's place (I'll courier them to her in advance), and make a decent effort, as there's little else in my life that could possibly weigh as heavy on my mind, or create as much meaning.

I seem to recall not all of the top three were riding fixed that evening.

    This is up for grabs.

Been away from the thread. I was waiting to be schooled. Where can I get a CAT5 license. I hope the races are less "crashy"?

I loved that blast last year. It was a beautiful spring evening. The best bit was when Tom sidled up next to me and said, "Alright?", then proceeded to let an old man have his day.

  • I was going to make a few observations about amount of chat vs number of names on list - then I saw the weather forecast for Tuesday. Chilly.

  • Ha! We're only on page 2, usual service is about 10 pages of waffle per ride.

  • I'm disappointed that Ben never sent me that winter pansies pic from his last TNRC last year.
would have come in handy several times over.

  • Very tempted by this

  • Roydon 12/3/13.
    GS4 £5.70. Liverpool St 19.11 & 19.28
    Return trains: 22.30, 23.13, 23.44
Rolling 37 miles - friendly pub and poppadoms option at the end. We'll ride as a group until the sprint option for the last few miles. Nice route if you are looking to try a first TNRC.

  • Basketball game resceduled to tues. Might struggle.

35 mile tnr via uxbridge road is rather more unawesome.

Average gear inch ratio of the ride just dropped 20%.

  • I'm afraid I'm a bit confused, the Roydon ride is 37 miles in around 3 hours and you end up at Roydon?
At least at that pace you'll keep warm!

  • It's a circular route. Starts and ends in Roydon. Trains are from and to Liverpool St. Pace will average 17mph, precisely. There will be badgers.

  • It's more shaped like a baloon on a stick.

  • I'm tempted but Skive and I did 17mph for 3 hours last Wednesday (SS) and I was a mess afterwards. Is this pace for serious? Also, badgers or honey badgers? Because one is definitely nastier than the other.

  • We averaged 17 last year (looking at the numbers) but it's very flat, you wouldn't struggle

  • I however, will probably be a mess for most of it. Ah well.

  • Thanks upstart/KT. You can expect to see me on rides soon but -1 with a windchill is a bit fresh for me. Ive had enough cold for a few days. Enjoy though, I know that Roydon route well and I imagine it will be beautiful on a clear night like tomorrow evening.

  • As you know the TNRC is not a club

Basketball postponed again, so I can make TNRNaC. Yay!

Will possibly ride out from central if anyone fancies sharing a taxing headwind.
Will almost certainly raise a spinnaker and float home on a wave of icy wind.

Metcheck forecast for tomorrow is as per tonight, so bring at least one layer more than you think you might need.

what are the rules about TNR(na)Cs and legwarmers?

Perhaps some people think that the TNRC is a group of elite riders ........

It is not an elite bunch of riders

    Werd...
