Surrey Hills has always been the traditional opener, can you really turn your back on 5 whole years of tradition? Or is it 4? cos that was the only route they had for the first 2 years.

Let's not get bogged down with outdated traditions and funny handshakes. There is a risk of it being wet and cold so I think a flattish distance ride will be better suited to the weather.

Someone please photoshop Ramaye's face onto Monroe's body and change title to Some Like it Flat.
-
• #30
Can someone please point out that Ramaye isn't exactly built for hills.

There was a handshake? No one ever taught me the handshake.

No need, I've already got one in my "private collection", pm me and I'll send you a copy.

I don't think Ramaye's built for hills.

This is easily done in the
PhatoshopPhotoshop by leaving out a letter from T-V's suggested title. -

Up yours the lot of you. In the morning I shall be riding fixed round the Peak District.
I know a flat route that avoids all the big hills.

I just looked at the forecast, worryingly negative.
Sheets remain dry for now but it is a concern.

On the other hand, if the skys clear for long enough, we have this...

Not sure if I am missing a gag / other reference, but if you are referring to route sheets, then I have taken to using this for all route sheets:
I print or photocopy onto it to make indestructible sheets for rides. For best results, a bit of prep is required. Depending on your preferred size, 2 A4 sheets can be reduced to half size or 4 sides reduced to generate small quarter pages. A bit of cutting later and you are good to go.

On a similar note, I find that if you drill a small hole through the end of the handle, and fit a rubber lanyard for going around your wrist, there's absolutely no risk of dropping the hammer whilst riding.
